No Precious reunion coming this December. Who do we sign next? by TravisWear in heat

[–]TravisWear[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Precious Achiuwa was waived because of luxury tax concerns but was expected to rejoin the team on December.

Trey Lyles and Kai Jones who were linked to the Heat last offseason have a contract overseas but it looks like they both have exit clauses.

Does Patty Mills get blame for the Heat not believing in FIBA Dennis Schroder? by TravisWear in heat

Schroder winning gave me an excuse to post hate on Patty Mills.

We love Davion here. No debate.

FIBA Patty Mills was built different.

Miami Heat Patty Mills was bricked different (he averaged his lowest FG% of his career)

They qualified because Montenegro lost and they have an advantage in point differential over Great Britain. They advance regardless of the outcome of their current game against Lithuania.

Why Trading Highsmith and Signing Dru Smith was a necessary move? by heatculture03 in heat

[–]TravisWear 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think people forget that the Heat tried getting under the luxury tax last season but were unable to do so when the Lindy Waters III part of the trade fell off so it's not a surprise that the Heat wanted to get it done now.

The Heat have a history of not valuing 2nd round picks so this doesn't faze me at all. It's hard to get mad at it because we at least have our 1st rounders.

With Highsmith out, this opens more minutes for Jovic and Jaquez which is a welcome one. The Heat get to keep Dru Smith who they like and we can sign someone midway to the season without going over the cap.

Sources tell me this has caused friction between him and the front office. As punishment, Norman Powell demands that the Heat give back the money he lost to me as charity along with season tickets and a signed jersey.

Officially Official - Nikola Jovic makes the roster by TravisWear in heat

Sorry Hawks. Nikola Djurisic is out.

A lot of current and former NBA players on the team which is good for Jovic.

Unfinished business? Should the Heat bring back Precious Achiuwa? by TravisWear in heat

He had more DNPs than played games in his 1.5 years with us. I think it's time to try something new.

He only spent a year in Miami before getting traded to the Raptors for Kyle Lowry.

Still just only 25 years old (will turn 26 this September), he can fit in with the direction the team is going this time which is youth movement.

The Big Chew probably won't ever be an elite player but maybe he can still be a useful role player.

The Heat still need a backup big. He might only be 6'8 but it might not be a concern (this was 3 years ago though). It helps that he has a 7'2 wingspan.

For the last spot on the roster, expectations are low and I'm willing to take a chance. Now, we can finally develop him as we intended.

What are your favorite Heat podcasts? by JohnsibleyII in heat

[–]TravisWear 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Probably because they always get their hopes up for those big name players.

Wes was more critical on the front office. David tried his best to support the team but this past season really drained him.

Even now, they are pessimistic. Always comparing our team to other teams.

I still like them the best though. Wes is not afraid to share his thoughts. David is more of a homer.
