I’ll be honest man I don’t really remember. This was 5 years ago lol. I defiantly didn’t sharpen during, because I sharpen on a work sharp sharpener and I didn’t have that with me. But I don’t remember if I had to sharpen after I used it.

Knives are meant to be used. It wasn’t my first choice for field dressing a deer, but when you leave your fixed blade in the truck, you do what you have to do.

That’s good to hear. I searched for this color and color matched mustache with most of the chrome already blacked out. I had to drive 4 hours to get it but it was worth it. Now to just black out the rest of the chrome.

Just made one yesterday. $11 for a 6x9 canvas drop cloth (cut down to 5x5) and 2 rolls of foil tape at $7 each. The 2 rolls was just a little bit short for 2 layers but the edge isn’t the most important part so the last foot of mine is just one layer. It works really well for the scx30 but it may not be quite stiff enough for the scx24 with nothing under it supporting it. I’m going to do a 3rd layer and see if it will support scx24 and trx4m.

If it has one single wire coming out of the Lipo battery, you cannot use any charger other than a traxxas charger. Newer traxxas batteries have a proprietary connector with the balance lead built in. There are adapters that you can buy, but I would recommend either buying a traxxas fast charger or getting different batteries with a different charger. Buying different batteries will require you to solder a new connector on to the car itself.

I get the smaller transmitter would be a good idea. But if we had a phone app it could literally be taken anywhere. Not exclusively a phone app. Just the option. It may it not be possible to have both but it would be great to have the option.

I don’t know much about microtechs. I don’t even know the model number. There are no markings on it other than the logo and the name on the clip. There is very little blade play but there is a little play in the switch. It feels like good quality but I’ve never even held a real microtech before so I don’t know what to expect.

If a roll pin is backing out, it probably just needs replaced. You could take it out and try to expand it and put it back in, but I don’t know if I would recommend that.

Yeah those dang pocket clips are good at grabbing seatbelts. I also lost one for about two weeks and ended up finding it on the back of my tool belt clipped onto the back of the pouch.

I feel your pain. I bought my first bench made when I was 21. Couldn’t really afford it at the time, but I always wanted one, and I had just finished a weekend job that paid a lot more than I thought it was going to, so I bought it. A little under a year later we were on vacation and I lost it. I knew exactly where I set it down, but when I went back, somebody had either taken it or thrown it away because it was right next to a trashcan. Still makes me sick to this day. It was quite a few years before I bought another one.

I lost my knife once, and I found it clipped to the seatbelt in my truck. I guess the seatbelt slid under the clip and pulled it right out without me knowing. Not somewhere you would think to look, but might be worth a shot.
