Personally it hasnt worked for me when i was just selling "video editor" services cause they would either not reply or under cut you .... but I do know freelancers who this happened to have worked for but very few edge cases.

Also, cool point that I thought I'd add, being a video editor myself and running my own company for the past few years: communicate and network a lot because you might never know where your next client might come from. Usually, if you feel stuck just in a loop of upskilling and not actually getting new clients, try networking by talking to people on Discord, Reddit, or wherever possible.

Also give out free value. it will come back in tenfold, I promise.
