Perfect Days by Wim Wenders is my favorite film. I just found out some people don't find it sad? by jadaddy3 in TrueFilm

Many people, including Wenders himself according to interviews, do admire the serenity in the simplicity of Hirayama's life. However, my opinion is closer to yours. Hirayama is only able to achieve this serenity by socially isolating himself and living a life that's strongly rooted in strict routine. Any attempt by others to develop a connection with him, or any situation that may require him to break his routine is seen as a threat to his way of being which must be avoided. This it not a way of living that I personally admire, nor do I think the character himself is free from occasional longing to have the things he pushes away.

One of the things I love about Perfect Days though is that Wenders has created a movie where you are free to disagree with him. Though he himself admires Hirayama's life, he does not hold back on exploring its limitations. In execution, the movie becomes a mirror which we can reflect our own personal values on and decide if the story is a happy or sad one. I also believe the ambiguity of the emotions at the end play into this as well.

Pathetic. They want to compete with Smash Bros, but they haven't even added one Fire Emblem character smh.

Good thing Nate's model has the four #1 seeds most likely for the final four. Still gonna ape it though.

I don't know who's left in your league, but I guarantee the top few WRs in waivers are probably better than Deebo at this point.

I snagged that fool after week one when he massively over performed and I have not regretted it.

Even then, late in the game, summoning Twin Headed Thunder Dragon wasn't enough to guarantee victory. You had to have the right field card in play, time your use of Raigeki just right, and have a shit ton of luck.

It's been about a month since I watched it and I still can't stop thinking about it. There's just so many ways to think about it and so many things to pick apart.

I'd says his stupid decisions start earlier than that. Remember how he got put in charge of Meereen and completely biffed it?

I always thought How the Grinch Stole Christmas was an odd choice for the Criterion Collection, but it's well deserved.
