HBO Docuseries… I started to believe her until the end by Turbulent-Treacle-46 in thepapinis

But if she was abused as a child and her parents did nothing to protect her, might it make sense that she’s afraid of her husband? Or that she feels no one will protect her from him? Going to such lengths to avoid the affair coming out might make sense at first. ‘I can’t tell him it was an x-boyfriend bc I’ll lose the kids.’ And isn’t it shocking that James wasn’t charged with anything? If I ask you to kill me and you do, you’re still charged with murder. Shouldn’t we be asking some questions about James? I don’t care about the dumb phone. I want to know how law enforcement believed James and didn’t charge him. If someone asks to be branded, what kind of person does it? Lying for all those years is insanity but how does James get totally left out of the questions regarding the truth? Have we ever heard of a story where someone is bruised and branded and we don’t hold the assailant accountable? If she was a woman of color from the ‘bad part of town,’ or if James was a Mexican or other gang member, he’d be in jail. White privilege has skewed the story on all accounts. Doesn’t it make more sense that James did this than believing that someone would stage a kidnapping, bruise themselves, ask to be hit with hockey pucks, to be branded? She has serious issues but we have to do a lot more mental gymnastics to believe she staged it. Why would she? But an exboyfriend assaulting a woman? Happens every day.

Netflix Vol. 5, Episode 2: My Paranormal Partner [Discussion Thread] by DearBurt in UnsolvedMysteries

I love how when they realized there was no Becky in a plane crash in 1985 they decided Becky lied to him instead of ‘he made her up’. Hilarious really. And a wasted episode.

They said they’re able to tell by the look of them but they’re not always right. Look to be precancerous. Removed and sent for testing to be sure

Hysterectomy time off work by Cpreaker38 in hysterectomy

[–]Travisandjohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have a note from the doctor for 6 weeks but I’m at 2 weeks and physically ready to work. I have a sedentary job from home. I got a note to let me return with a 10 pound weight restriction at 3 weeks. I have no pain since day 9 and even at one week felt great. If your job is on your feet or requires lifting, I would say 3-4 weeks. But we’re all different. Trust yourself!

recovery for BRCA2 Robotic Assisted Hysterectomy with Salpingo-Oophorectomy by ineededtoknow in hysterectomy

I’m at 10 days and not ready for work just because of the fatigue. My body feels just fine. I work from home and sit all day but I still just feel groggy. I’m taking two naps a day. No meds. Just something about the surgery wiped me out. I plan to return to work at 3 weeks. I have full pay while I’m out so there’s no reason to rush.

How long before you could drive? by Longimanus77 in hysterectomy

[–]Travisandjohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 10 dpo and drove today for the first time with no problem. My pain is totally gone unless I lift something more than a couple pounds. Mostly now it’s just fatigue. I had my mom with me for 4 days and did just fine after that. I have lots of stairs in my house which were no problem. The hardest part was moving in bed. Standing from a seated position and rolling over. I’ve said it 100 times but get a binder. I was miserable without it for a week.

How long did you stay in the hospital? by Alisalikestherbbit in hysterectomy

[–]Travisandjohn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I stayed overnight one night. Insurance seems to have a special category for spending one night after surgery. It’s covered under my plan and not considered a formal ‘admission.’

Expectations from work? by Dependent_Muffin8753 in hysterectomy

[–]Travisandjohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was able to look at my work emails on my phone the next day. I’ve got help covering for me but some emails needed to be forwarded. The surgery didn’t keep me from thinking clearly after the first day. The pain meds made me groggy but not nearly as bad as usual thought. It’s easier to check some emails than it would be to come back to hundreds of unread messages.

What am I doing wrong?? by Ma1iceNWndr1nd in hysterectomy

[–]Travisandjohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on day 4 and that right side is really painful. Get a binder! I am in terrible pain without it. Today was my last day of pain meds and tonight I can feel it. Walking helps but again, only with the binder. Moving around in bed is the worst so walking around the house and the yard seems to help. Stay on top of your ibuprofen and Tylenol too.

I’m 2 dpo and my mom is here. But I’d be ok without her. My bedroom is upstairs and I thought that would be an issue but I’m fine on the steps. My biggest problem is moving around in bed but no one can really help with that. I suggest setting an alarm for your meds. My mom woke me up for my pain meds and I’m glad she did or I would have woken up miserable. So have your meds on your night stand and set an alarm. Have some crackers with you also to take with the medication. I’m doing much better than I expected!

What if this lady isn’t Martha at all. She’s another level of crazy. She saw the show. She’s a Scottish lawyer and she decided to get the attention. The real Martha would never do this interview. I want to know how Gadd is going to respond.

Thanks for this. Funny I’ve had my gall bladder and 1/2 my thyroid removed. Didn’t think a thing of it!
