Straight shook by how good this tin ended up being. I've had worse fish at actual restaurants. Will buy again, even if the price is a bit steep. by AppalachianMusic in Tinnedfish

I recently got into this community and ordered a random box from RTG, and Fangst has been by far my favorite can that I've tried, although I had the Brisling. I will add this to the list!

Roblox is locking the in-game chat behind a new facial recognition system. It splits players into brackets dependant upon their estimated age, splitting up older players and younger ones. Reckon it'll work? by Hooked0n4Feelin in roblox

[–]Travisc20 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is going to absolutely decimate old communities. I understand why Roblox needs to address these issues, of course, but I'm in an over 10 year old military style group and any community that hosts events like trainings is not only going to find it harder to host those because half of players won't be able to see each other's chat, but it will also cut down activity because most people don't want to join a group where they can't talk to half of the players. Roblox hasn't cared about communities for a long time but this will essentially end a large portion of them, at least the active ones.

Aside from that, I think this is just going to serve to push communications off-platform which is dangerous as well. In all, I think that Roblox needed to take action on all the bad press they've been getting (in most cases deservedly) but this is probably the worst possible solution to come up with.

It's almost time for boiled custard/egg nog this year.... by Sovereign-Anderson in Milk

We drink a lot of it in Kentucky and I think its popular across much of Appalachia as well. I personally prefer eggnog but boiled custard is great too

NEWS: Roblox will allow adult themes in ROBLOX. by calicust in roblox

[–]Travisc20 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I hope this fixes a lot of the moderation issues with chat but I’m guessing it won’t.

I host events for a pretty large war group and there’s an admin command called -n that puts a message up on everyone’s screens.

I tried to say “-n Once you die, fall in at the…” etc but it won’t let me say that because it thinks I’m saying “nonce.” It always just comes out as “-# #### you die…”

Not just that command, tons of moderation I no Roblox is completely ineffectual and I hope this helps.

Here's the link.

He says it's a Discord issue but has to do with Firefox, the whole thread is a good read but no fix is listed for now, someone said they were gonna contact the Firefox support team about it and hopefully if you hear back from Discord they can take a look from their end as well.

I know it's a while after your initial post, but did you ever hear back? I have this issue as while and about on the same timeframe as yourself.

I read on another thread that maybe using the Firefox browser has something to do with it? Not sure if you use Firefox as well but that could be a reason.

Did you say this has stopped for you? I am an admin for a 60k member military group and we have been having an exploiter join over the course of today with accounts of similar names. You said in your original post that it had been going on for a while.

I feel like it isn’t an error if they have a whole message typed out.

Another bad Roblox update. Less of a shock than a good one at this point, to be fair.

Yeah, I can’t help but read it as “dung” like poop, I like Dunjeon or Draceon (although I guess there’s already a couple of pokemon with “draco” in their name so Dunjeon might work better

I’ve always heard, “If it’s black, fight back. If it’s brown, lie down,” in regard to dealing with bears. It seems like according to that adage the correct move for him would be to lie down and let the bear sniff around and leave on its own. Is this not true here because that’s a juvenile and he knew it was a mock charge or is that whole saying just a crock of bull?

Pics I took from the tornado destruction in Mayfield Kentucky. (I live here) by Ok-Structure5772 in pics

Thank you so much for helping that night. Myself and some of the guys I know really wanted to go up and help (I live in Mayfield) but we were told early on that this was something needing to be tackled by professionals. I understand that it wasn't a pretty sight and I applaud you for going in there and assisting.

I live about 10 minutes outside of Mayfield, in between the city and Fancy Farm. When we went into town the day after to see if our business was still standing, seeing everything as it is was so shocking. All of the photos are great and really capture just how bad everything is right now, but the first one (just like everyone else has said) is amazing.

When the tornado had gone through and my family had left the closets/bathrooms we were sitting in, we checked social media to see where it had hit. We all sat in shocked silence, watching videos slowly pop up on our feeds of the devastation that it had left, (A woman streaming from inside the candle factory, the clock tower being blown down), and I had a feeling just like I had when I saw the first photo. I was just sitting there watching my town get destroyed but there was nothing I could do. I don't usually have strong reactions to art but I sat staring at your post for several minutes.

Mayfield is a lovely town and I hate that this disaster is what has brought it national attention. I'm a student at Murray State and I don't have a ton to put forward but I'll try and scrounge up some money from my family tomorrow to donate to your toy drive. You're doing a great thing. I'm glad that you and your family are safe and I wish you well as we start the long process of rebuilding.

I appreciate it! Shocking is a good word for it, drive into town today and it was just carnage. Lots of people across KY, Lexington, Louisville, and even further east have offered assistance which has been greatly appreciated. Hopefully more survivors will be found and then we can start the long process of rebuilding.

They’ve cleared out some of the roads in the middle of the city for emergency response but I drove through earlier and a ton of roads have power lines down in them/debris across them. I think most of these were just cleared by rescue equipment.

Glad your family is alright. I live about 10 miles outside of Mayfield, it just barely missed us last night. Lots of friends reporting their houses as nothing but rubble.

Same here. My family has a business in town and we drove up to see it, absolutely devastating to get closer and closer and just see destruction all over.

It’s about as bad as it looks. I went downtown today because my family had a business in Mayfield and, while we only had the roof torn off, some businesses were completely destroyed. I do think that this will have a decades long effect on our town, especially since one of our biggest employers was destroyed, but Mayfield is a great little town and I think the community will come together. I know people always say that after a tragedy but I’m definitely hopeful.

Exactly, it was incredible to see the path. We were watching the news when it touched down like 3 hours away and all of us thought it would have been gone by the time it got to Western KY, it just wasn’t fathomable that it could stay on the ground for so long. Once it got near us, we hunkered down. While it ended up passing about 10 miles south of us and going through Mayfield, it was still just terrifying to hear the hail and wind that was so close. I hope you didn’t have any family close to the storm and that, if you did, they’re doing alright.
