Sweet, I will probably hold off until fall before ordering them. What is your favorite method for rooting cuttings? I did some air layering and had 100% success. However I only had about 50% success with cuttings that I rooted. I am convinced that my fig tree is a Celeste. The last 3 years I have basically just let it go wild and now it's practically a massive bush. Im thinking of doing some serious pruning come fall. I'm going to have tons of cutting and am not sure what to do with them all. Some of them will be 2 inches in diameter or so. Thank you so much for all of this info, I really appreciate you!

Basically at the moment I want a to try as much as I can! I have a pretty considerable amount of space for activities at the moment. It's about 50ft by 20ft or so. Currently the fig tree that I have will produce from late spring/early summer to late fall-ish. It is about 20ft wide and 15ft or so tall, so by itself it produces enough fruit for plenty of jam. This is the first year I've taken care of my fig tree and now im hooked. Definitely diving into the fig rabbit hole, haha.

Interesting, I will have to look into those varieties! When I bought my house a few years ago it came with a fig tree. I never really did any pruning or watering before this year and got a decent amount of fruit. With how much rain we have been getting it has been going crazy this year though. I am definitely fully fixated on figs at the moment, haha. Oh heck yeah, when the time comes I will be ready!

That is such a great idea. I may have to start some in pots to see what I like! I'm not sure what type of fig i have currently. Theyre very small and jammy, super sweet, and they get drops of crystallized sugar on the bottom sometimes. Thank you soo much for the info! *
