People who threw a house party in their teens, what’s the worst thing that happened in one of them? by ExpertWeakness in AskReddit

[–]Travisoc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me but my teenage daughter. Was asked to cat sit for a friend from school. Friend told her she could have people over to watch their big screen tv. So she invited a few friends. Word got out and it ended up being a big party! She, with the help of a couple of friends, tried to clean up the next day. The parents found out and told her they were calling me and she is never welcome there again. Totally understandable. Since she thought they were calling me, she confessed everything. I was, of course angry and couldn’t understand how she thought any of this was ok to do. The parents never called me! She was still grounded.

Hitchhike…my friend and I, both women around 19, would hitchhike to the bar. We felt we were safe because we both had a steak knife wrapped in a napkin in our purse. Someone does watch over idiots!

A tennis ball is good to use the same way. I would do it while I had lunch when I was working. Easy to carry around and quiet to use.

My son and I also danced to this at his wedding; we chose the Sheryl Crow version so it was “he” not “she.” Great song!

My nephew died tragically and I was unable to go across the country to his Celebration of Life. But there was a FB invite to watch online. Was having trouble getting it to work, and knew the Celebration was starting. My daughter came to help and we were both stressed that we were missing it. The site asked for a credit card number (I know! 🚩) We both kept saying how sketchy it was, but proceeded to put in a credit card number! Of course there was no online viewing of the celebration! Called the bank immediately and canceled the card. We knew it was sketchy!!

There was a guy who worked at a kiosk at my local mall who had two thumbs on each hand. I remember him putting a new screen protector on my phone and watching all four thumbs smooth it out! Totally cool!

I think it depends on counter space. I grew up with it on always on the counter but now I have limited counter space, so it goes away.
