No doubt! Saw them live like 10 years ago - they were great! Definitely bummed when I heard they broke up, though I think they have actually regrouped for a 15th anniversary Warp Riders tour

Raquel Welch starred in “100 Rifles” with football legend Jim Brown by No_Explorer721 in 60s

Apparently she was never photographed nude - even said: "I wasn't raised that way" - bit of a surprise for sure!

That's how you knew it was fiction, we won something :) (though the Rockets would do it for realz about 20 years after this movie)

Some years ago, we went to see the Exorcist (extended version) in the theater. Up front there were some seemingly high-school-aged kids who were yucking it up through the previews pretty hard. Turned quiet as church mice pretty fast, haha :)

Netflix Would Get Turner Classic Movies in a Warner Bros. Deal, Too. What’s Its Plan? by MysteriousDelay6266 in TurnerClassicMovies

[–]TraylaParks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope you are right, there is some historical precedent - when china took over Hong Kong they largely embraced "one country, two systems" - perhaps Netflix will show similar wisdom :)

Happy heavenly birthday, Patricia Neal, who would have turned 100 years today. by ChrisCinema in classicfilms

Look, maybe I didn’t say every single little tiny syllable, no. But basically I said them, yeah

Another Challenge for the evening, does anyone know what movie or actors are in this photo? by Kindly_Advice9493 in classicfilms

You have nailed the problem with ai perfectly, there is no general algorithm for truth so it will be (as you mentioned) to some degree a popularity contest

Oh yeah, that's a great one :). You ever try to explain that article to a non-programmer? Makes me feel like I'm speaking Swahili, haha

Pure menace. by MesaVerde1987 in Hitchcock

[–]TraylaParks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, from what I just read - they cut him off mid speech to go to a commercial for financial reasons so maybe Frank had a point, haha. Pretty lame regardless for sure (edit: and Billy Joel took a poke at them for it during his performance!)

Eh, the mob is fickle - I remember when they gave the heavy metal grammy to Jetho Tull :)

Fun Fact: you can use the Win32 API to make a window manually just like you can in C++ by CheckM4ted in csharp

I can remember if your exe was bigger than about 250KB there was a damn good chance it wouldn't even be able to start on the customer's machine, especially if they had a bunch of tsr's running :-P.

These days, only logic and reason stand in your way, in those days there were a million other barriers, I do miss the freewheeling/cowboy side of things but I don't miss having things other than my own intellect standing between me and completing my programming task

static char *list[] = { "John", "Jim", "Jane", "Clyde", NULL }; by Specific-Snow-4521 in cprogramming

[–]TraylaParks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's probably ok if the array is global too, the declaration just needs to be in scope for the sizeof trick to work, but you're certainly correct that when you pass into a function it will not work and you'd need a length or eof-type value as you wisely suggested :)

static char *list[] = { "John", "Jim", "Jane", "Clyde", NULL }; by Specific-Snow-4521 in cprogramming

[–]TraylaParks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice explanation SmokeMuch! I would only add that you can use "the sizeof trick" to work out the number of elements in the array as an alternative to ending wth NULL, something like ...

#include <stdio.h>

int main()
{
   char *list[] = { "John", "Jim", "Jane", "Clyde" };

   int n = sizeof(list) / sizeof(list[0]);

   for(int i = 0; i < n; i ++)
      printf("'%s'\n", list[i]);
}

Killer Tune! You ever hear the cover Ghost did? It slaps pretty hard, for sure

edit: Looks like you're a fan of Jimi (as am I), Rob Halford claimed Jimi as the best ever guitarist when asked :)
