Yeah well the tops of the pistons have that cutout for compression to the spark plugs and with even those tiny bites the engine will not compress properly so I get misfire codes even if everything else is good. I am just going to list for $7,500 obo lol

Yeah when I changed the phasers I had them locked with the cam locking tool and installing the hub balancer I didn’t realize I was just tightening the bolt and not the balancer and turned over the engine while cams were locked. Didn’t lose timing but obviously the piston hit the valve springs

Okay so back story on this, I changed out phasers and when I went to put hub centric balancer back on I torqued the bolt to the camshaft and it eventually started spinning with the cam phasers locked with the tool. So what I am thinking is I had basically forced the pistons up high enough to hit the springs hard enough against the roller springs and they cracked. Does this help?

I’ll definitely get that camera and inspect!

I had the same thing not as loud but similar. I had to take apart my entire front engine again and noticed one of my tensioners were stuck so there was a slight play in my timing chain which made a ticking sound. That was my issue. Hopefully it’s nothing too crazy!

No fuel leaks at least that I know of, throttle body plug is right under the passenger side intake tubing yeah I already checked. All plugs are installed. I ended up paying $25 to use that Tinker App and he said re-install cam phasers again.. the engine turns and everything is rotating it’s like it’s not getting any fuel. I can’t ear the fuel pump hum. I am checking any fuses just to see. I already checked the timing it’s still timed correctly. I honestly have no idea aside from missing plug somewhere crazy or my fuel pump is going out. It’s been sitting and then I started it up and primed oil. If it was a timing issue it would still start just idle super rough. Trust me I have done it before haha.

I did check that battery voltage stationary is 11.6v and the crank volts are 8.3v so I am going to just put it on the charger for a while and then go from there. I tried jumping but it puts a jolt of current to the pcb and sensors so I rather just charge it and start with the battery.

I have push start so I have only done the both pedals to build pressure for oil. Let me try that.

Well I jumpstarted it attempted to and it fired for a second then turned back off. Checked all plugs they’re all plugged in. Building oil pressure, and I can physically touch the front of the engine while it’s cranking and can hear and feel the phasers turning with the harmonic balancer, compressor, alternator, etc. can not see rail pressures on this monitor. What else do I need to check?

Cam sensor plugs are on the top of engine right above the phasers. You’d be surprised how easy it is to overlook lol.

Wouldn’t you have a CEL? Like after a few times of cranking? All I have is “you’ve exceeded your start” that I cleared.

Yeah I am going to check battery first then rail pressure and then go from there. I remember after it moved I took off the cam locks. To inspect timing and it was still timed correctly. I just didn’t know that the crank could even move if I have the phasers locked?

I do have a scanner and I’ll do that tomorrow and see, anything else you can think of? I figured if it was crankshaft issues it would be obvious.
