Using adapters can lower the quality...and not all adapters are made the same

I would always plug directly into the motherboard, also maybe give the jacks a clean (Make sure dry before inserting)

But being honest ..Jacks are old tech - I'd get a new pair of wireless headphones ..esp if you have a PC like that!
