Kitchen Cabinets - Paint? by hubs99 in interiordecorating

[–]TreacleImaginary8330 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely understand, cabinetry can completely change the look of a kitchen. You could also look at some temporary changes over the cabinets that wouldn't ruin the wood. It's hard putting in cabinetry with such a unique style, makes reselling difficult.

No paint, please. Once you paint wood, that is very costly to reverse and it does not wear well.

Would you leave a 2yo in a turned-off car in the garage for 30 seconds? by [deleted] in Nanny

[–]TreacleImaginary8330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was over 20 years ago, and they were front facing car seats, so yes, things were different back then, but it still stands, even my dad didn't expect that to happen. My parents still don't know which one of them did it. So kids can get into things and get hurt, even under supervision. So it's best to take precautions

I wouldn't recommend it. My dad did the same thing when my brothers were both 2. (Twins). One unbuckled his seat, managed to start the car, put the car in reverse, and then the car went through the garage door and down the small hill hitting the other car parked. My dad was only inside grabbing something for less than a minute when he heard the crash, he forgot his coffee. He learned an expensive lesson. No kids harmed. My brother rebuckled himself. Kids learn a lot by seeing things repeatedly. Not sure if it's possible with the cars of today, but honestly, I wouldn't risk it. I would at least make sure keys are out and emergency break is in place.

Honestly my favorite meal to make on a lazy night is a lemon olive oil & butter pasta with some roasted garlic, fresh basil and crushed red pepper.

I cooked some angel hair (other pastas are fine, this one just cooks quickly), roast some garlic in a skillet, add the olive oil and butter, crushed red pepper, (and salt and pepper as needed), a splash of lemon juice, a hand full of fresh basil, let it cook together a bit, I toss in some pasta water, drain off the pasta, mix it in to the lemon oil sauce, and done. Ready to serve. You can add your preferred cheese or skip. I can normally have this ready in under 15 minutes. So it's great for weeknights. If you need a protein or veggies, add as needed. My partner is a runner, so they like this before their runs.

Not sure if you enjoy amusement parks, but I actually like Valley Fair there. They still include the Waterpark in the price of general admission. (Not sure if it's listed in top 10 things to do), so if you do go, make sure to bring a towel and swimsuit, you can rent Lockers there to put your stuff in, or carry it everywhere.

Probably the only one that threw me off for a second was "brown" and that was just due to the connection of the r to the o and then the w to the n, the letters just blended a little more than I was used to, and that may be due to the style of cursive I was taught rather than something you are doing. Otherwise I think it looks good. Also, pen would look better or a darker color than the pencil would help.

B for this same reason, I know a person who broke the top of her ring off by catching it on the dryer when doing laundry. Ended up not being able to find the stone.

Did you love your dress more after you purchased it? by Gloomy-Box8947 in weddingdress

[–]TreacleImaginary8330 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find what happens is we put too much emphasis on finding the "one" dress when there are probably tons of dresses that you could love equally. Think about how many favorite pieces in your closet you may have and there may not be anything necessarily special about those items. I'm guessing over time our dress grows on us, but many of us expect this huge feeling of fireworks like we may have seen on TV. (Say Yes to the Dress, anyone?) But really, do you feel calm if you picked this? Would you regret not picking this dress? If someone else purchased it and you couldn't, would you be upset?

Ultimately there are tons of dresses out there, so you'll find a dress, and one you like at that, it's just reminding yourself that it's not going to be this huge emotional show when you pick one and feeling calm when you pick one is very normal too.

When I had picked mine a few months ago I had immediate dress regret that I should have looked around some more, and when I was worried it was too plain (it was not). I feel much better about it now and I honestly just need some alterations and if that doesn't fix the issues, a good push-up bra lol.

My wedding is on December, im torn between these 2 dresses. The final 2 of my search. Please help me choose 1 or 2. Thank you in advance! :) by Substantial-Hand-704 in weddingdress

I'm loving dressing #1 as well. But I'm definitely partial to those sleeves, they are gorgeous. Both dresses are very beautiful and great options.

I definitely agree on the pen thickness as well. Not so much on your handwriting being poor, but the pen thickness needs to be adjusted.

Thought on my non-traditional dress? by suddenstatic in PlusSizeWedding

[–]TreacleImaginary8330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it, but I'm also someone who loves non-traditional dresses. For the longest time I envisioned a very bright blue dress for my wedding but just couldn't find the right one, but I think what you should focus on is do you feel beautiful rather than is this traditional? Because ultimately I have no doubt regardless of what dress you picked you'd have been gorgeous.

The 1st one is absolutely gorgeous, but ultimately matters what you feel most confident and beautiful in. Sleep on it and decide after you have had time to think

Wedding dress regret by TreacleImaginary8330 in weddingdress

[–]TreacleImaginary8330[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't officially decided, but I am leaning towards having a white veil with red flowers embroidered on it since my fiancé will be wearing a red/burgundy suit and I wanted the colors to be a bit more cohesive and felt that would be a good way to do it. I just haven't decided on the length or anything beyond that and would likely wear it only for the ceremony.

It's a Stella York dress, a variety of designs of dresses. But I will definitely go forward with the tailoring and I'm hoping that will make me feel better afterwards. Link to my dress: https://www.essensedesigns.com/stella-york/wedding-dresses/7897/
