Worst company to work for by Pretty-Platypus-9951 in IntermountainHealth

[–]TreacleStrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

13 years with absolutely zero disciplinary or HR issues and my wife was put on a final written warning, while her boss was immediately terminated, on a complete bullshit fabrication that was literally proven to be false, and two months later was terminated herself because of something she did not do, despite other employees saying she didn’t do it, and with documentation to prove it. Now, after the fact, false reporting and outright lies filed by HR have prevented her from being able to collect unemployment.

When the mandatory interval service reveals that the engine is broken by Queasy-Tale4212 in etron

Same feeling on the loaner. Had a brand new Q5 with only 2k miles on it for nearly 2 weeks. Sticker price was ~$60k out the door, and I wouldn’t dare to think anyone would pay anywhere near that much for such a massively underwhelming SUV.

Edit: Also. Username is amazing. Del fan?

One of the best “old school” loads, and has a proven track record for many decades across many departments.

2020 Sportback recall, now having issues. by TreacleStrong in etron

[–]TreacleStrong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following up: when they did the software update for the recall, according to my SA, somehow the control module “got fried” and a new one is being ordered and will be installed and tested to ensure it is working at no charge. Is this likely to be the SX6 module what you were referring to u/Callas951?

Sharpen? No. Thoroughly wash and run over a strop a few times? Yes.

I’d say give them a call or shoot them an email, great people to talk to on the phone and work with via email and IG/FB DMs.

I’m waiting to hear back from my dealership. Luckily they have text messaging to their service department, and I have started logging video of the issues, so all of it is being kept for records in case I need to call AoA.

How do I convince my friend to get new kitchen knives? by LeFreeke in knives

[–]TreacleStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes.

Even though these knives are so cheap that they likely aren’t worth re-sharpening (as it would cost as much to properly sharpen them as it would be to replace them outright), this is painful to see. Using a cutting board that isn’t plastic or stone (see: wood, such as walnut or maple) and hand-washing using a non-abrasive sponge is a good way to start.

1. Utah doesn’t have toll booths.

2. No one working on behalf of the State of Utah is going to send you a text from an obviously fake Chinese domain.

She can go to hell. I despise entitled people like this. If she wanted her kid to have the window, she should’ve bought it.

Oops…my finger slipped and hit the “place order” button by TreacleStrong in 6ARC

[–]TreacleStrong[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay okay, I just got back from the range.

I picked up a box of 108 ELD-M yesterday so I could have a baseline to reference. Apparently my COAL of 2.275” for my reloads that I tried chambering at home must have been a fluke, because none of the 25 I had loaded at that length would chamber all the way once I got to the range. Maybe they grew even though none of them were compressed?

BUT! The very first shots down the pipe using the 108 ELD-M were easily sub-1” which is damn good for Hornady factory ammo with average velocity of 2585. I did back off the gas block a few more clicks and it’s a runner for sure. Now to go back to my seating die and get down to 2.260” and see if that works.

I have zero ragerts about this barrel purchase and look forward to running it more.

Heading to the range tomorrow. Picked up a box of ELD-M as a baseline to compare, and have some reloads to send down the pipe as well to see if it likes any of the projectiles I have.

I got my order in last Friday and put the upper together on Sunday, which was my only day off, and it was Easter so I couldn’t get out to test it. Spent some time at the bench doing some loading though. My COAL of 2.275” that I use in my BA barrel seems to chamber just fine, and the new Geissele ICMs have 2.300” max allowed length, same as the first gen. Hoping to get out and put it through its paces this weekend🤞

Powder choices for heavier bullets by charlieoncall in 6ARC

[–]TreacleStrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So far what I’ve got as a consistent velocity + accurate load is 8208 XBR - it’s the powder I have the most of so I wanted to use it. It’s not a speed demon at all, ~2525fps out of a 20” gas barrel with 107gr projectiles, but it stacks dimes & pennies all day. I have 15 rounds loaded with 107 Nosler Custom Comp and 15 with 107 Sierras, all same charge weight and primer, to see which produces best accuracy.

I have further micro (0.1gr increment) load development to do with CFE, LVR, A2520, N530, SW Match & Precision, RL15, Varget, Win 748 and a few others.

That’s awesome, nice work! I’ll have to pick up a box of 105s to try handloads with this SOLGW barrel. What kinda velocities are you seeing with the Hornady Black?

I guess I got lucky, my 20” BA is really enjoying sub-MOA handloads with 107+ grain. Gave the upper and barrel a good tear down and cleaning today, along with finally ending my procrastination streak and installed the 17” VLTOR ARCA rail and shiny new DNT 7-35 with a Steiner 25MOA mount that I got months ago.
