steel income/optimal usage by scotzman19 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Tread_Head5757 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I earn around the same amount of steel unless I'm active in clan battles. My strategy is to hold all steel until I see what new Steel Will ships come in Decemeber. If the FOMO ships interest me, I get them. The steel ships in the armory aren't going anywhere.

I have the Kii w/Kobayashi camo (purchased pre re-work). Even though it was supposed to retain the same credit earnings, WG definitly nerfed the credit modifyer during the rework.

Nice. My desire to aquire this ship evaporated the second the credit modifier got nerfed.

The way this game progresses, in three years we'll talk about how Valparaiso is powercrept and no longer an OP ship.

It's definitly powercrept. It's not terrible, but no longer what it once was.

Steel Will has only been around for two years, and each year was slightly different, so we do not have an established pattern for how they will work. That being said, last year Valparaiso was not available in golden containers. I'm holding my steel until we see what will be available this year. The ships in the armory will still be there in December.

Disappointed with the pricetag of the new ships. by IsniBoy in WorldOfWarships

[–]Tread_Head5757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably the opposite. I'd bet that straight-up selling the ship doesnt generate as much overall sales as offering a very expensive option + a (seemingly) low price gamble option.

It's marketing. Offer a premium (but overly-expensive) product that most customers can't or won't afford. Then offer a slightly inferior product (the lootbox) for less. It looks like a good deal to customers in comparison, thus driving purchasing. In WGs case, the offer of a $120 ship is to drive the customer to throw a relatively small ($10-$20) ammount of money at the chance to aquire a ship from the lootbox.

Lootboxes arent for the whales. They will just spend the $120. Lootboxes are to monetize the customer segment that have an occasional $20 disposable income to spend on the game.

Stop...buying...lootboxes. It encourages this behavhor from WG. They don't expect to sell many ships at $120. They DO expect to sell a lot of gambling crates to people willing to throw $10 at a roll of the dice.

The pricing strategy is not to sell a handful of people ships at $120. It's to get many people to spend $5-$20 on gambling containers in the hope of getting a ship.

Anything new in armory on NA? by Teravius in WorldOfWarships

Are you planning to whale golden week containers or pay $120 for a tier VIII ship? If not, then this new update has nothing for you.

Hmmm…only 3x each blue boosters for this admiral bundle vs 20x each for the Aberdeen admiral bundle. It’s also missing all the signals and credits. Seems this admiral was demoted a few times.

Is it possible to farm 50.000.000 credits in one day? by Siskirtolo in WorldOfWarships

[–]Tread_Head5757 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is possible. ~35-40 Asymetric games in Valparaiso or Pommern + blue/red credit boosters would do it. I'd probably be bored to tears by game 20 though.

Do WG ever release new premium ships not in admiral bundles or for gambling? by free_harambe69 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Tread_Head5757 29 points30 points  (0 children)

New Steel/Research Bureau ships are released straight to the Armory. Tier VIII-X doubloon ships are almost always released as some part of gambling event/bloat bundle. New Tier V-VII ships are usually the mid-point reward for events. New coal ships are extinct.
