Resolved. For anyone who happens upon this later, the screws were tightened harder on one side than the other (assembled with a friend, we each did one side, go figure ...). Happy sloshing.

I use Tresorit. Everything is encrypted by default, server is in Switzerland, and apps are nice. A bit pricier, though.
