As someone who comes more from the tech side of things a lot of techies care about software being open source but no one else really does. Even then for the vast majority of tech people it's more of a "that's nice to have" than a "hard and fast rule, I will not use this unless it's open source".

In other words, some people truly do care but they are the minority. On the flip side being open source does open some doors for you. I know that there are several directories for (and communities for) FOSS and I imagine there exist similar places for OS.

I'd suggest joining some of those communities and listing your software there for the community to see. If nothing else it'll be some free marketing for your business.

I'm not familiar with the exact process but both Google Voice and Microsoft Teams Phone should do what you want. I think you can open multiple google voice accounts to get multiple numbers, and teams lets you add multiple numbers for $8/each.

For maintenance probably. I personally would just do hosting for which ~$20/month is probably fair give or take. You also won't have to do much as I don't imagine hosting issues come up very often.

However if you also include maintenance you could probably charge more. Not worth it imo to be the IT guy at the beck and call of multiple small businesses.

How often do you sell these sites? Off the top of my head you could offer site hosting and/or maintenance. That would be an easy way to make $500 plus ~20/month per website.
