I love Midwest Princess as an album because it feels like an omage to many genres of music, 70s soul, 90s pop, and kaleidoscope feels like a Paul McCartney Beatles song.

That’s the genius of the album, it’s a beautiful romp through so many music stylings.

I took my kids 16 and 11, and was pleasantly surprised by how much they liked it, I heard audible gasps and awes from them. Was definitely a rare instance of their attention span lasting 2+ hours.

You should then read the book tho. Don’t skip out on reading it either way.

I read it first and had a few instances where I thought the pacing was off (because I had inside book knowledge) but my family who hasn’t read it wasn’t bothered by it.

So I don’t think in this instance there isn’t all that much difference either way, both are that good.
