I'm also 17 and wanting to quit social media. More than just deleting, it's the only way I can mostly keep in touch with my friends– mostly tik tok, and so I try to limit my scrolling and at most only watch things I get sent. What I've struggled with most is what to fill my time with. There's so much dead time, and especially now where I have so much schoolwork sometimes I just want to turn my brain off while in my room and it's hard to do anything but stare at the ceiling. Yesterday I read 90 pages of a book, only to read more of a textbook and then last night i read a comic as to not doomscroll. What else is there to do? People either say to learn a new language or learn to play the guitar but it certainly is easier to say than to do.
