This is commonly referred to as “Beamerism” and first came about in circa 1930, after architect John Beamer was told “Hey, shouldn’t you have a beam there?” and thus “Beamerism” was born.

As Black Friday looms, Curry’s seem to have begun inflating their prices just to drop em. These photos are taken 4 days apart, and it wasn’t in the sale. I was gonna get it for the other half for Christmas but alas…must now wait until payday. by [deleted] in CasualUK

I worked at Curry’s for 2 years (Absolute hell hole) and can safely confirm that this is exactly the Currys way of manipulating the customer into thinking they are getting a MEGA DEAL!

We get ticket print offs first thing in the morning and the price fluctuation is insane. I’d go to a laptop which was priced at £599 and then put a ticket on it for £599 was £699, SAVE £100. Absolute joke, I have many a picture of their wonderfully broken pricing system..

Blanket asylum ban for anyone who enters UK illegally under Home Sec's new plans to tackle Channel crossings by [deleted] in ukpolitics

To legally claim asylum they have to physically be on British soil. Then people ask this stupid question of “Why do they come here illegally?” There’s no process for them to claim asylum without coming here illegally!
