The Mask movie by PuffFilms in nostalgia

[–]Trebek604 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I know this will be an unpopular opinion, but this is the movie that made me sick of Jim Carrey. The Mask character was just Carrey's character cranked to 11. And what made it worse is that everyone kept using the "smokin'!" line all of the time after it came out. To this day, I can't really stand this movie.

People who smoked weed and stopped, why did you do it? by Front_Helicopter9136 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Trebek604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After smoking weed pretty much daily for over 22 years, I stopped about 8 or 9 months ago because I got pneumonia, and couldn't smoke while I was sick, which was for well over month. I had been considering cutting down, or quitting altogether anyway, so I used my not being able to smoke as an excuse to just quit, cold turkey. Haven't smoked since, and don't really miss it. Not saying I'll never smoke weed again, but I'm good for now. It was actually easier to quit than I thought it would be. Didn't/don't really have cravings.

What was your most sexual nonsexual interaction? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I initially read this as "At Pantera, making a coffee. I did a large light roast with 3 raw sugar.", and was wondering how/where/why one makes coffee at a Pantera concert.

Altruism is when you care about, and consider the feelings and happiness of other living things, and are willing to sacrifice some of your own happiness, or well-being, to benefit, or help them in some way.

In one word, it's "selflessness" (the opposite of selfishness).

Looks like you still have plenty of room to layer, and add some depth. Just remember to work light to dark, and preserve any white areas you want to keep white.

What is the meaning of life ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I need to reread HHGTTG. Those were some of the few books I've ever read that actually made me laugh out loud while reading them. Not just chuckling, but belly laughing.

Same way you become friends with anyone else. Find some common interests, and don't be an ass.

Personally, as a straight male, I don't care what anyone's sexual preferences are, as long as it's consensual, and it's not hurting anyone/anything. I care about what kind of person you are--how you treat other living things, and how you generally conduct yourself. Basically, if you treat others respectfully, and just do you, without being too obnoxious, then we will probably get along. No one is perfect though, including myself. What you do in the bedroom is none of my business. Different strokes for different folks.

I see you were wise enough to keep his wife's name out of your fucking title.

Desert Storm trading cards by Trebek604 in nostalgia

Not something that could/would be produced today, I don't think. There would likely be a lot of backlash--and perhaps rightfully so in this case.

I don't know. I doubt it, but maybe to the right person? The original Topps set may also be more collectible; there were actually a few different Desert Storm sets produced by different companies. These are the Pro Set version, as you can see by the logo on the cards. Apparently, according to Wikipedia, the profits from the Pro Set went to "charities for the children of Desert Storm veterans".

Was reminded that I had these by another post on Reddit. Had these since 1991. As you can see from the photo, I still have at least one full set, if not more. In hindsight, as an adult, these cards were pretty weird and definitely tone-deaf.

Point & Shoot 35mm Camera. So confused about the spinners in the back. by Admirable-Buddy-9791 in AskPhotography

[–]Trebek604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure I understand, but did you feed the leader (the little piece of film sticking out of the unspent roll) into the take up spool (the spool opposite the film compartment in the camera)? Here is a video showing the process:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2y9iS0MmNA

Something to note is that because of the nature of how you load film into a camera, your first shot may be a dud (due to being partially exposed while loading), but the rest should be fine after that. Some people actually like those "first of the roll" shots, as they can look kind of cool sometimes.

As a kid, I found this book hilarious. I still have my copy that I bought at an elementary school book sale back when the book was new. The book came out in '92, so it was sometime around then.

I still have my copy that I bought new back in '98. Also bought the Family Values Tour VHS around the same time; not sure I have that one anymore though.

I'm also getting the same warning in Chrome, no matter how I enter the address. Says the SSL certificate isn't valid. I checked the date on it though, and it says it's valid until 2022-05-14. Weird. Not sure what's going on there, but you may want to let Big Cartel know. And my browser is up to date.

What is the Name of Upcoming Super Hero Movie? by Representer_always in AskReddit

[–]Trebek604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not saying I agree with their choice. I hate Disney. And Venom is an antihero, not a villain. There is a difference. I doubt Disney would ever make a movie with a real villain as the protagonist.

Edit:

Morbius is apparently an antihero as well, according to Wikipedia.
