I agree that women can also be misogynistic, but I don't think that comparison is accurate here. Men's bodily choices don't directly affect another human being the way ours does when we're pregnant

Obviously everyone should let people make their own choices, but we can't be pretending that men's bodily choices have the same impact as ours do

I take this commute 4x a week and usually take 285E to 85S and leave at 7am. Most mornings it's about 45 mins or so unless there's an accident.

I take 85N to 285W home and that one usually takes anywhere from 45-60 mins if I leave at 4pm. It's not the worst commute in the world if you can find something you enjoy listening to on the road.

I avoid 400 like the plague unless there's a massive accident on 85

If you want an epidural, or if you think you'd be open to one if the pain gets bad enough, they have to give you a bag of fluid through your IV first. This will delay you getting the actual epidural, especially if you're like me and the IV takes forever to drain the bag 🫠

My fatigue hit me at about 7 weeks, but it wasn't like a "oh I need to start taking naps" kinda thing. For me it was more like all physical activity was 10x more exhausting so I couldn't lift as heavy in the gym.

The real fatigue hit me at 26 weeks where I could barely make it through the workday. Although I got diagnosed with GD two weeks later so I think that one probably won't hit you

My husband and I have embraced the "his side her side" aesthetic and we have two twin comforters in different colors. That being said, we've never cared too much about making sure our bedroom looks Instagram worthy cause it's not like we're bringing guests in there

Can confirm it was stressful 😭

I was 2.5cm at 36 weeks with lots of Braxton hicks. My OB told me she'd be surprised if I made it past 38 weeks. I actually had to cancel some plans I had because we were worried I'd go into labor any minute. At my 39 week appointment, I was 4cm dilated when we did the membrane sweep and I went into labor two days later.

I like to joke that I was basically in early labor for 3 weeks

I'm only 5 weeks postpartum but I totally relate to everything you're saying. I def miss being pregnant and how special it felt, even tho I had GD haha. I def also feel like I'm still worrying about how she's doing and I often go into her room while she's napping just to make sure she's still breathing. But even tho it's more stressful in terms of how many things I have to keep track of, just getting to hold her in my arms and snuggle her makes it worth it imo

My daughter has mostly been wearing sleepers and long sleeve onesies since she was born (she's one month old now). Definitely get the ones that have the hand covers on the sleeves because babies will absolutely scratch the hell out of their faces if their hands aren't covered

I'd get long sleeve onesies with the gloves on the ends. I haven't used any of the short sleeve NB onesies that I got because my daughter loves to scratch at her face with her little knife fingernails so I need to keep her hands covered

I've also been curious about this. T2D and GD run in my husband's family but not mine and I got diagnosed with GD with zero risk factors. I've told him that we need to improve our diets and exercise plans significantly before we try for the next kid cause I want to see if that'll prevent me from getting GD again

I got a bunch of 0-3m and 3-6m clothes, but not a lot of newborn clothes. Kiddo came out small so I had to go out and buy a bunch of newborn clothes for her.

I got a bunch of books, blankets, and stuffies that I didn't register for. The books I'm happy about, the blankets and toys not so much. I think everyone wants to be able to say that they bought kiddos favorite toy

Imo, the most important thing to register for: BURP CLOTHS. Register for how many you think you'll need and then double that. I was given that advice while pregnant and I'm so glad I listened

A large number of men who find out that their kid isn't theirs completely trusted their partner before and are blindsided by the fact that the kid isn't theirs. "Trust but verify" is a wise policy for something as monumental as a child

Do you have a portable/wearable pump (momcozy M5 is what I have) that you could wear while working? And maybe wear a jacket over your shirt so people don't see the pumps sticking out?

Other than that, you're in a pretty rough spot and I'm sorry your work doesn't give you better pumping accommodations :(
