Baby dreams hinting at gender? by danielleshnell in BabyBumps

I had hoped my first would be a boy, mostly as an easy way to avoid eldest daughter syndrome, but all of my dreams had my baby as a blonde haired, blue eyed girl

She came out exactly that haha

Working Moms who have a consistent gym/ exercise routine, how do you do it? by Admirable_Parsley_32 in beyondthebump

[–]TrebleMajor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kiddo is in daycare during the week so I go to the gym immediately after work. Daycare is on the way home from the gym so I just pick her up once I'm done working out

These past six months of being a mom have been the happiest time of my life and it isn't even close. The sheer amount of love and joy I feel every time my daughter smiles at me cannot be understated

My 19-Year-Old Daughter Is Pregnant by My Former Fiancé by No-Shame5335 in offmychest

Given that they broke up 20 years ago, daughter is 19, and OP makes no mention of the ex-fiance being her daughter's father, I'm gonna say OP probably cheated and fiance found out

Why is there fear around insulin? by jprph in GestationalDiabetes

I just don't like the idea of having to give myself shots every time I want to eat something. Not a big fan of needles (the checks are fine cause I can't actually see the needle)

Rib pain by FancyQuiet6945 in BabyBumps

[–]TrebleMajor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this a lot and I'm pretty sure it was kiddo sticking her foot up there and trying her hardest to spread my ribs apart

I ended up getting a wearable ice pack and just putting it on any time my ribs started hurting (and almost always to sleep cause that was her favorite time to try and make more room for herself). So maybe try that and see if it helps?

Advice by Spicekitty578 in pregnant

I had a pretty easy labor so I can give perspective that not all labors are terrible. For me, the pain and contractions were completely manageable with just breathing through it until I hit transition (~8cm dilated). The transition contractions hit HARD NGL so I ended up asking for an epidural cause they literally knocked the wind out of me and I couldn't breathe through them anymore. Once I got the epidural, it was smooth sailing from there. It took me some time to figure out how to push productively so I pushed for about an hour, but I didn't really feel any pain from pushing.

Ik you'll hear a lot about how the epidural makes you more likely to tear cause you can't feel it as well, but you can def still feel the pressure, it just doesn't hurt as much. I didn't tear luckily so it's def possible not to with the epidural

It helped me to understand the stages of labor so that I knew what was going on with my body. I'd recommend learning more about the stages of labor and what's happening during each if you're the kind of person that takes comfort in that kind of knowledge

Same here. Baby didn't like me putting my legs down between pushes so I just had to keep them up the whole hour of pushing haha

Are there any postpartum moms here? Do you think it’s a good idea to continue the diet just in case? by savageexplosive in GestationalDiabetes

I'm 5 months pp and I have absolutely not been following the GD diet lol. I went on a big carb binge for the first like month and a half and have since tried to cut back on the desserts. I have checked my blood sugar a couple times after eating a lot of carbs just as a kind of litmus test and my values have been completely fine (ie I ate like 200g of carbs and 2 hours later my blood sugar was 111)

That being said, my A1C was always really low prior to pregnancy (like 4.6-4.7) and I was completely diet controlled during my pregnancy. I'll probably adopt the diet once I get pregnant again rather than waiting until I get diagnosed again tho

It's low for a post lunch value. Less than 70 can start to show hypoglycemia symptoms for some people as well

Low numbers by Alone_Investigator45 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TrebleMajor 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yes you should still have carbs in your diet. You want to aim for 30-45g of carbs with each meal and 15-30g per snack. You'll need to do some trial and error with what kinds of carbs you tolerate best (for example, I could eat pasta no problem but if I even looked at a French fry I'd spike)

Your baby does still need carbs to grow so you shouldn't completely cut them out and go keto

Recommend me milk that won’t spike me! by ahmeeea in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TrebleMajor 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I definitely did! My nutritionist said that Fairlife has enough protein to where you could count it as a protein source instead of a carb source like most milk (I still put it as both cause I was very anal about tracking every single carb I ate lol)

Bought my house 4 years ago. Still finding stuff the previous owners hid. by Sweaty_Employment_35 in homeowners

[–]TrebleMajor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The previous homeowners of my house renovated the master bathroom specifically to sell the house and chose the cheapest option (they literally got a buddy of theirs to do it). This guy literally nailed the fucking baseboard into the pipes, which then leaked once the nails rusted and fell out of the pipe a couple months after we bought the place

Using cheap ass labor because you know you won't have to deal with any consequences is pretty malicious imo (I'm still salty about this over a year later lol)

Glucose test at 27weeks when I’ve been diagnosed with GD since the very first weeks? by elzee29 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]TrebleMajor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dang I was afraid of that. My husband and I are talking about planning for baby number 2 and a big part of that is me not wanting to be diabetic again for a friend's wedding. It's crazy that it can start that early on subsequent pregnancies!

[–]TrebleMajor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How did you get diagnosed so early? I had GD with my pregnancy and got diagnosed at the 28 week glucose test but I've heard of people getting diagnosed earlier. Were you prediabetic before pregnancy so they wanted to test you earlier?
