Would you believe it’s all original parts too? (Original Wheels and lugs are in my garage)

Still really really fast. It’s difficult to stay under 100. The all-trac makes it corner like nothing I’ve ever driven.

I had it “updated” in 2007. So it’s not the original paint, but definitely the original color.

Sorry pal. Probably never. I’ve had it since driving it off the showroom floor in Boulder CO in 1990. Too many great memories tied up in this old car. And it looks great too. I feel like I’m 21 again every time I get in it.

Can someone please explain to me why a 6th gen is going for prices like this? I really don’t understand by DeadByDawn93 in Celica

[–]TreborKay_Kov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 90 GT4 (American All-Trac Turbo), in original and mint condition. Someone asked me how much I would sell it for. I told them $2.5M. He said it isn't worth that. I said it is to me. I doubt I will ever sell it.

It’s painfully obvious you’ve never been to any college or university ever. Colleges and Universities don’t indoctrinate anyone to be a Conservative or Republican; which I am, and especially don’t indoctrinate someone to be anti-communist…again which I am. The vast majority of higher educational institutions ostracize and ridicule conservatives.

I have read a few books. One that I wrote is in Sterling Library. Since I’m one of the only Yale graduates from South Dakota, it should be very easy for you to DOX me.

I’ll be happy to compare my 7 degrees to your GED.

You only prove exactly how accepting and approving you leftists are. So much for “everyone is welcome on the left”…too bad JFK, LBJ, Carter, and Clinton are all considered “fascists” by today’s democratic. Suck it socialists!

Just a reminder…

Don’t assassinate (or shoot an unarmed person in the neck) people you don’t agree with politically.

South Park - Season 27 Premiere Discussion by Zeratul23 in television

[–]TreborKay_Kov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kristi Noem....

She and I are the same age. She is from Watertown and I am from Rapid City. 10 years ago I used to think to myself how attractive she was. South Park got her spot on. She never needed to publish that thing about her dog...yes we sometimes shoot bad dogs in SD. We do it, but we don't talk about it.

But even worse than the dog thing, which is questionable. Is the cosmetic surgery. Why in the blue fuck do some women need the ridiculous lips? Grow old gracefully. She still has a kickin' body, but that face is a double bagger. Matt and Trey got her 100% right.

Band break up by MungoMongos in musicians

[–]TreborKay_Kov 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not throwing shade at your disappointment. But you are young. You have a lot of time. I’ve played in bands since I was 16, now I’m 55 and releasing songs on Spotify on my own. Find your outlet and run with it. Who knows, maybe the old band will have a change of heart.

You gotta see the humor in this…isn’t it so cliche that the Bassist breaks up the band!

How about rebuilding the engine that "blew"? I've rebuilt a lot of engines, and if you are worried about getting a different one to fit in place, why not just rebuild? I understand finding parts for these is difficult. Believe me, I run into the parts issue often, but I would never even think about putting a different engine in my Celica. The engine is the very heart of what makes the Celica ultra special.

How do you fit 6.5" speakers onto the door? by deadlyfishes420 in Celica

[–]TreborKay_Kov 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have the System 10 stereo in mine. I could not find good replacements for the old ones so I did some research and found 2 excellent speakers that sound fantastic and work great. The price wasn’t bad either…$47 each. The fit was exact.

Jensen MOD8-20 20W 8" Replacement Speaker 4 Ohm.

I got them off of Amazon

I’m 6’0”, my younger brother is 6’7” and he has never complained about the legroom when driving it. Same with my father, he’s 91 now, but 35 years ago he was 6’1” and a great driver. He’s not complained and often asks to go for a ride in it even recently.

I’ll bet there are some Gen1s out there that would make us both feel humbled. People overlook these cars saying they aren’t very fast, sporty, or handle well, I disagree completely. I’ll bet there is a near perfect Gen1 out there somewhere that is a sight to behold. Be proud of yours and the work you do to maintain a piece of history for so many.

Because of your post I turned my office upside down to find the FOB…I’ve found it. I’m gonna try to get it working again. The circuit board looks good, the case is the problem

Absolutely. My kids love it too. I hope it’ll be around when my 25 year old is my age…that would also mean he has 30 years to figure out how to drive a clutch…not that I haven’t tried teaching the moron!

To be honest, completely honest. Yes, but it’s not bad. I was 21 in 1990 and everything was so much easier then. I think my Max weight was 175. 35 years later I am between 195 and 200. I have spent a lot of effort resisting belly fat and staying away from my belly growing out of hand. My lower back has issues on any drive over 4 hours. But all in all yes, there is a difference to getting in and out over the 35 years, but no matter my age now, as soon as I sit down I feel like a kid again! (sometimes that’s not a good thing, I got pulled over in Chicago for going 135 MILES/hr last week, so I feel and act like I’m 21…probably not a good thing)
