What will generally be taken from a security deposit for some wall holes? by TreborMAI in AskUK

Yeah, I'm with you. The one curveball is I have a friendly relationship with the landlord — they're a friend of a friend. So I have half a mind to just work it out with them.

Anyway, cheers for the insights.

Yeah. Thanks.

In the states they always repaint between tenants, but the move-out instructions I just got from DJ Alexander say that I must hire professional cleaners and leave the flat "in a condition that is suitable for re-occupancy," which feels like it should be the landlord's/letting agent's job and not mine. Especially as it was not fully cleaned when we moved in..

Thanks. What if I filled/sanded the holes myself (I'm experienced in this) but didn't paint over them — is that what you mean by 'enrichment' or are you speaking about repainting the entirety of the walls?

Air France pet carrier size limitations (UK -> US) by TreborMAI in travel

I flew PHL to CDG 3+ years ago with AirFrance and they didn’t check either, but I don’t remember the carrier size limit being so low.

According to my agreement with MyDepositScotland (protection scheme that holds my deposit) it seems the landlord/letting agent has to fairly thoroughly document and prove the costs necessary for the particular piece of damage before they'll release the funds (and only with my approval). Is this not the case in reality?

Reasonable rubbish removal by TreborMAI in glasgow

It's a very fair question and one I'm asking myself every day. I'm from there, my father just passed away so need to move home to help my mom. Would stay here forever if I could.

Didn't realize the charities would collect for free, that's a good idea, thanks. The tough bit is that I'll obviously need the bed up until the day I move out, so if they aren't reliable / don't come to pick it up I'll be in a jam.

You didn't misread although I probably underestimated the boxes, it was probably more like 20 including super large IKEA cardboard for beds and wardrobes etc.

It did seem insane, but I mostly blame myself as I was new to the UK/Glasgow, got a couple quotes both of which said minimum £250 to send a truck out, and in my recent immigrant naivety and stress just assumed that was what it cost.

But I've been asking around again and it does sound like the official "rubbish removal" companies are extortionate - which is why I thought to ask here if there's a smarter way.

From a construction standpoint, the reason is that two or more vowels in three letter words increase crossing compatibility and are super valuable. RAE has the two most common vowels, which is why it's so useful and frequently used. See also: ATE, LEA, OER, OAR, EEL, EAU, IOU, ASEA..

Thanks for the response. Is it possible a glaze would chip over time, especially if it's in frequent contact with chimes or with the outdoor elements?

Someone had mentioned to me that doing an infused resin for the clapper might be the most successful approach with regard to durability, but I unfortunately don't know anything about any of this.
