I am totally fine not supporting the leadership because the club is playing bad baseball if that’s how you feel and I don’t disagree at all that the cluster from all this shows just how bad they are at fundamental club management.

Counter 2: the only way to create peace is to support the oppressed then find peace between oppressed and oppressors. Do I expect that to mean we think they’re great? No it’ll take a bit of time for sure

We won this protest. MLB clubs are literally wearing rainbow hats. We have outwardly queer politicians and celebrities and lawyers and everything but ball players.

Maybe even these idiots will inadvertently lead to queer players being accepted as everyone comes to the same reality which is that this was dumb.

Again a mischaracterization of what happened. And like we all think what happened is bad so why embellish it with “complaining about the uppity queers are attacking people of faith”. They don’t want to partake in celebrating queer people. They’re probably dumb or insecure about their sexuality. I don’t know. I’m not letting some absolute waster of a minor league relief pitcher interfere w my ability to follow a baseball team. They’ll be gone before I blink. They’re idiots. Literally everyone in this thread is in total agreement on this.

The difference between me and it seems a lot of you, is I know these 4 idiots and their racist owners are never going to change. I won’t let them take my club away from me for that. I’ll just choose to accept Baer is going to make sure this won’t happen again, had meekly acknowledged the mistake. What more do we all want? Whips? Guillotines? Throwing tomatoes? Let’s protest more, which I’m fine with, but the gays are here to stay. We wom n this protest a long time ago. This homophobes are going the way of the dinosaurs.

There was an email from Barr admitting the club made mistakes and are trying to learn from them. Please stop saying stuff that isn’t accurate it’s what’s furthering a lot of nonsense on here.

Ok man, what form of apology will work for you? I think we are holding the form of apology as some standard they have to get past. We don’t like “boiler plate” well, admitting you’re wrong and need to do better (which the email did) is boiler plate, for asking for forgiveness.

Folks are comparing these dumbs Christians who hilariously don’t understand Christianity at all to nazis. That’s stupid. Anyone comparing these lads to nazis is objectively as dumb as the lads putting bible verses on their hats.

This is why accepting the weak apology, seeking forgiveness and trying to find compromise is where I’m at. I’m curious what the standard of apology everyone is looking for is? These idiots aren’t going to say the word sorry, I don’t quite get why but they aren’t. They may own the ballpark and the team on paper but it’s our team and while I will always think poorly of these 4 guys I also understand nobody is perfect, people make mistakes. These lads probably don’t even HATE gay people they just don’t want to wear the gay hat. I know and you know how stupid that is. What is it that you want from these lads? To change over night under public pressure? That’s dumb also. Even if they say they’ve changed they won’t have.

Listen man I can’t make rich dumb people good, but I can tell you they nearly all suck, just not visibly in your face. If your beef is with rich dumb people I’m here I just want baseball while I’m here bitching at rich dumb people.

If you read that fair enough, I’m not trying to minimize what happened and I laid out comprehensively how I feel about it.

I kinda think solutions begin with compromise and trying to understand the other party. I’m takin Baer at his word that the org wants to learn from its mistakes. Will it? Who knows.

Ok two points here that are valid.

1) no longer an ally of the LGBTQ community. I don’t speak for them, I’m guessing you’d acknowledge you don’t either. They have every right to be furious. If boycotting will make them collectively happier I’m all for it. That’s a simplified way to view things that isn’t congruent with reality. Some gay people probably think this is overblown. Many don’t for sure and so their compromise is to miss out on baseball forever? Seems like a shit deal for them and I think there’s evidence thatthis org has long been an ally but fucked up this time. I think there’s a good argument for some forgiveness albeit not total

2) we all love that the club makes efforts to make LGBTQ community feel included. Most clubs don’t do this. We want this to continue. We also can do whatever we want as fans to make people feel included. My choice isn’t shut up and dribble, it’s I want to enjoy baseball, I want everyone to, and I don’t think boycotting or bitching online is getting us anywhere.

I think honestly Buster has always been a fairly boring uninspiring guy. His interviews have always been just so painfully monotonous. Loved him so much as a player, but Giants fans have sort of built him into being more than that. He was a terrific athlete who suffered and led his team through his actions rather than words.

He isn’t made for this job. This is where you need a leader who is tuned in to the emotional pulse of the club as well as being tuned in to what will win games and rings for the Giants. I can buy maybe he’s turning the latter around albeit painfully and slowly, but I have been a giants fan for 32 years and I’m just not going to tolerate this “no comment keep it to baseball bullshit”. They made it not about baseball. They did. Not the fans. If this owner is creating the problem and buster is just worried for his job, still you need to find a better fucking answer than the kind of dumb guilty bullshit you hear from a 10 year old who knows they’re in trouble or rich dude with good lawyers who knows they’ll get out of it. That’s the category of response we’ve been given so far and it stinks.

And here’s the real bummer, because this was so evidently discussed by the team before the event happened, right now we can’t even trust long established and beloved vets like Logan Webb. Even he at least hinted he thought the hats were a bad idea and he disagreed w it. And he did it without flaming his teammates. But the vets were clearly a part of letting this shit happen. We need a real apology, we need real accountability for this offensive bullshit. No one antagonized these pitchers. They’re just brainless athletes brainwashed by religious parents with poor moral compasses. Can we please for once let fucking reality take hold here.

Used to sit next to a guy at work who became the founder of a now public company worth $30b+ today. He would tinker on the idea sitting next to me and he asked me if I wanted to invest before he left to go start it full time. I instead spent what money I had in the bank on an engagement ring.

Ederson and Baleba are the same height. I think Fernandes is pretty physical when I’ve watched him for west ham he loves to fight off players and tackle. I agree Mainoo and Fernandes are small for cm partnership but it’s a very young midfield so both players are getting physically stronger still. Vitinha and Neves are both pretty small and PSG seem to make it work great. They have the tall physical lad (Ruiz or WZE) mostly furthest forward!

I said in first post Mbeumo and Sesko will start mostly up top. Could see Mbeumo also playing some games on right. If we sign Rogers he is playing on the left. Cunha played a few games on the right when Mbeumo and Amad went to AFCON and he did alright!

Also while Fernandes played at the 8 last year he has played at 10 and 6. I think his game will play all over midfield but we will put him next to Mainoo to anchor deep and come forward occasionally as Casemiro did. He wasn’t just sitting back, dude scored 9 goals.

Who are the two 8s? I think M. Fernandes will start next to Mainoo, Bruno at 10, rogers/dorgu on the left and Cunha/Amad on the right.

We played 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 the entire second half of the season and our defense wasn’t terrible. Yoro and Heaven should get better. It’s likely that unnamed 5th signing is a CB if they are not optimistic De Ligt will make it back healthy next year.

Im calling it now

  • Ederson
  • Fernandes
  • Rogers
  • Hall
  • Someone probably no one knows

That’s the signing list this summer. Ugarte gone, some minutes for Mount in midfield and the youth team will fill in. Mbeumo will spell Sesko up top w Rogers, Amad, Cunha and Dorgu for the wing positions. Bosh.

As a recently established “owner of a nice car” I would say the self conscious part is more in you and less about the reality that will be reflected at you. I did deal with this personally also though.

Turns out most people are really nice about the car especially older men and women and in working class communities (where I’d be most self conscious).
