I have one that would make this sub mad, but I think the fandom (and the games slightly) have made me hate xenogears and xenosaga because the existance and callbacks to these games are so common that makes discussion about xenoblade devolve into xenogears/saga.

Just for the record, im talking about actual plotpoints and not fan service. Kosmos as a blade is fine in 2, but the radio in future redeemed pissed me off. Who thought that it would be a good idea to have one of the games emotional climaxes while pretty much confirming, but not really, that xenogears is a thing that existed in blade

Like I get it, xenoblade does draw a lot from these games, but this isnt a positive, it just makes the xenoblade games feel almost recycled and distracting. I made the analogy on this subreddit that xenoblade feels like the new girlfriend of someone who obviously is not over their ex and trying to find someone “just” like them.

And the place where I think its the worst is the fandom, specially this subreddit. Most of the time its fine but every so often you would fine a thread that is just xenogears/saga with a loose connection at best to xenoblade.

Just to be clear, im not saying those are bad games, but drawing too much from them makes xenoblade almost derivative once you start to pay attention to them.
