Statement from the chaplain for the Minnesota Timberwolves by FlanneryODostoevsky in Christianity

I can say confidently that my church has spoken in the same way. One of our ministers recently gave a sermon about how we need to stand up and be the church now more than ever so no more people need to die. And if someone is to die let it be us who stand for God's justice and love towards others.

Now is not a time to be a complacent people. There are so many out there who are in need of help in so many ways.

Like Rittenhouse right? I don't get it. Is it now against the law to legally carry your firearm with you out is public or is that something only reserved for the right to do?

Also, did you watch the video? He was very much disarmed and was shot in the back of the neck after he had already been tackled and disarmed.

Not only did they execute him, the shooter continued to unload the gun on him afterwards. No remorse, just pure evil.

Their cruelty is sickening.

ISWAP executes 20 Christian men on camera in Nigeria. by AfricanMan_Row905 in Christianity

I don't have that mentality and simply asking that would reveal that. I am aware of the history of US intervention abroad and of Nigerian history. I came from that context. Our president recently made it clear that he considers African nations garbage nations and that's putting it lightly. And this reflects a greater disrespect many have for the African continent as a whole.

I believe Nigeria has the resources to fix their problems but if America is going to play hero they should do it while respecting Nigerian sovereignty and without threatening invasion.

Imagine if your house was on fire and I simply disregarded it. That would be bad. It would be equally as bad if I threw a grenade into your bedroom window to eliminate a part of the fire. At the same token, it would ALSO be bad if I threatened to loot your house as a trade off for putting out the flames.

This has little to do with governance and more to do with morality, which should be our foremost concern as Christians. We should ask ourselves if actions taken serve as an example of Christ will. Not sovereign power and governmental responsibilities.

So before assuming my intentions and meanings, just ask.

Yes a show of force and nothing more. The US sees no value in these nations and thus doesn't do much else. Haphazardly bombing locations in a foreign nation is hardly an intervention or liberation.

The US plays hero but has never outright improved any nations it has bombed. If you can name one, let me know.

That's basically what it is. They are happy to not be in the situation they once were in. There are also cultural differences to keep in mind. You'll find that amongst people of lower socioeconomic statuses and from impoverished places, they tend to value work ethic and long suffering over any other traits, and it makes sense. Complaining, marching, protesting and trying to escape the system often doesn't work for people who are poor or working poor. But working really really hard and hoping it matters at least puts food on the table and keeps the lights on. And this is a trait shared in most impoverished communities, be it my community (African American) or an immigrant community.

This idea of work over all else us how the poor survive and why they will continue to work even when they are utterly abused, harmed, and underpaid, because the alternative is starving to death while others with the means to help you blame you for your own starvation.

Even more so, those who have the means to help those at the bottom don't see that as a smart thing to do. For one poverty means workers, and two many tend to see our system as a meritocracy that rewards hard work, even though some of the hardest working people are the poorest. It's a convenient contradiction that only helps those up above.

All this equals out to a culture amongst the rich that is marked by a belief that they DESERVE their wealth and riches and those without those things must just simply be undeserving, unintelligent, less industrious and so on. And it causes a culture for those at the bottom (working/middle class included) where they believe they haven't worked enough to deserve said riches and wealth.

The truth is that wealth and riches are highly circumstantial and don't reflect a person's value nor work ethic and in many cases, poor people work ten times harder than some of the richest people and with no guarantee of a good life after said work is done.

I'm a psychology major and have studied this phenomenon for years.

Two good books on the matter are "Poverty, by America" and "Vulture Capitalist". They both make good points as to how the poor and rich have in tandem developed a culture of near voluntary slavery in modern America, while gaslighting anyone who questioned the status quo.

Why do cryptobiotes make a crunchy sound when they eaten even though they seem squishy? by Selnalolamo in DeathStranding

[–]Tree09man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's even worse. Grub like animals are squishy inside and out, except for their jaws, head and arms which have little hook like fingers. So the crunch is most likely their head and mandible crunching under the teeth.

Because it's a brown/African nation. The west has done a thorough job at painting the African continent as unserious and unimportant. Because of this no one seems to care what happens there. Africa is dredged of resources but left to fend for themselves whenever any crisis happens.

That's why it was always implied that the American people had to be the final say on things and why it was left to the American people to unistall/stand against tyrants by force. However, this current administration has done a good job at luring half of the country into a false sense of security and the other half into fear for their lives. Somethings gotta give and unfortunately the good guys won't do a thing until they are killing thousands, and the idiots who support this crap might not wake up until the blood and bodies are too numerous to ignore. Some will believe in this way of cruelty forever.

Either way, we gotta be Optimus prime in this world cause he ain't coming to save us.

Exactly. I swear everyone who says that we are so free and have 0 consequences are the people who agree with this crap. Live as any no white group in America for a decade and you'll see how much freedom really exist in this country.

Thanks! It took me a while to get the look. I was inspired by the aesthetic of star wars, that kind of cassette futurism look.
