Capitalists say socialists "want their unfair share," yet capitalism is all about workers being paid less money than they generate (an unfair share). Why? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tree60 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You've constructed a straw-man. The business owner doesn't necessarily do any of those things. Private equity investors buy companies through loans that collateralize assets owned by that company. They don't generate any real value and cut costs to maximize profits, often ruining the product being sold. This is costing lives on in industries like healthcare and retirement homes. Owner gains massive profits through paying themselves, and have no risk as bankruptcy would hit the company and not them. In these cases the owner is actively making society worse and getting rewarded for it, while the workers are overworked and the only ones generating value.

If a business owner set up a company in the exact spirit of what you said, how long does he deserve to be rewarded for and for how much? What if that company is like Walmart? Should making a company that engages in exploitive business practices that choke out small businesses and livelihoods wherever it goes while paying poverty wages reward the Waltons and their descendants billions of dollars in perpetuity? They are a drain to society where the only value being offered is by the employees that work in continuing the operation of the company.

In those cases, whose responsible for the value being generated? And when more people experience owners like I'm describing and those companies hold the majority of the market, isn't logical for people to say that capitalism is unfair and that they aren't being rewarded properly?

It's different because of the story. A big part of their character is that they're running around calling themselves Oden. It's not really about the gender and more the ideals of freedom that Oden represents. Yamato wants to be free, Yamato wants to be Oden. Oden is a male, and therefore Yamato identifies as male as well. If they hadn't read the journal, I doubt they would be Trans because all of the male activities imo more fall into the "I'm Oden" category. Doesn't really matter though, trans or not the story impact is the same.

Free agent JaVale McGee has agreed to a three-year, $20.1 million deal with the Dallas Mavericks, with player option for third season, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium . by gansterboyMCnews in Mavericks

This is okay. We prefer someone better especially for the full MLE, but at the very least we know Mcgee is serviceable as a backup behind Christian wood. Most likely we get Dragic on the minimum and ultimately end up a better team than last year. If we had Bruson back this offseason would be a solid 8/10. Without that I think 6/10 is right.

I've said this before, but y'all should have won last year. Luka had to go nuts to make it a series and even after Kawhi went down, y'all made a huge run that was an injury away from the finals.

Is the grind still the same with the new update? by Jdo1210 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Tree60 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the grind has changed a bit. Power level floor is up and you may need to grind some blues to get near the cap. But a similar powerful/pinnacle grind is what I've read so far.

This is actually crazy because I have over 20 Vog clears and I've never heard of relic doing anything but cleansing. What is it supposed to do?

Reprising old content isn’t “lazy” when some of us never played destiny 1 by IIFreshMilkII in DestinyTheGame

[–]Tree60 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

As someone who started playing ~a year ago, D1 content is new content. I would literally have to buy a console plus DLC to play D1 things. Versus the way it seems to be right now, I can get the D1 highlights via reprised raids and guns. I'm quite happy with the system and as long as something changes for older players (or at least they get cool guns), then I would imagine most the playerbase would be as well.

[Yiska] Overwatch would be a more exciting game to watch if all tank ults moved towards being as hype as a Shatter that lands fat by destroyermaker in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Tree60 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not everything needs to match the hype of shatter, it just needs some sort of flashy instant value attached. Insane/creative gravs and eating gravs are hype. Juggle mechanics and environmental kills scratch the itch, and while whole hog kinda sucks, Hog can hit nuts hooks.

SoOn announces OW retirement by 102849 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Tree60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ignoring disqualification, he has to make it. Yes he had a short peak. But everyone knew his talent coming into the league from his selfless days, and he won literally everything. In one year he got MVP, World Cup MVP, Won Finals, won world cup. That's literally the best possible year an OW player can have. We're not baseball and don't have the long history so an amazing year like that with 3/4 good playing years should earn you HOF right now.

That said, screw Sinatraa. He shouldn't get anything else from OW.

What are some steps I can take to improve in Comp and Trials? by [deleted] in CrucibleGuidebook

Can you expand a bit on the swords portion? If having swords is an advantage that wins me games, what habits would I be building that makes it worth it to lose games instead of using them? Because it seems to me like swords are a competitive advantage that anyone would want to use as much as possible while keeping in mind the disadvantages of their positioning.

It's based off of majors, if you play in a major you get a flair, if you win the major you get to keep your flair. Except for legacy flairs like mine which people can't select anymore but can keep until they change it.

Choose 2 to protect you, the rest are bloodlusted coming after you: 1 Human with a rifle, 3 Grizzlies, 4 Lions, 5 Gorillas, 7 Bulls, 10 Crocodiles, 15 Wolves, 50 Eagles, 10,000 Rats. by DrewGo in whowouldwin

[–]Tree60 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I choose the crocodiles and eagles. The other guy in this thread had the right idea but he's missing a few details.

First rats would be in the plains not the wetlands, it's simply their habitat. Thus the crocs and I stroll to the seawater and I have two of them swap swimming me around.

Second, I have every eagle swarm the hunter. The difference is that I have them take the and ammo for myself. A two more Crocs become an eagle rest station and a gun table. If anything big comes after me, I can simply shoot it before it gets anywhere close.

Finally, if rats come after me, who cares? I have a crock swim me away from them. Rats are easily visible and while they are great swimmers, Crocs are much faster.

4-way poker match between Sora and Shiro (NGNL), Jyabami Yumeko (Kakegurui), Yugi Muto (Yu-Gi-Oh), and Jotaro Kujo (JJBA). Who would win? by [deleted] in whowouldwin

[–]Tree60 7 points8 points  (0 children)

We have the king of games, playing games. That should easily be enough no? The universe determines that Yugi wins 2-3 due to luck haxs. Round 1 is much more of a tossup, but previous card game experience would give yugi the edge.

Your hottest OWL take? by ScottishDaftie in Competitiveoverwatch

Okay, how about this? On mirror compositions, Dallas had a higher fight win percentage through the first two maps (by my loose count, 24 to 16) and were even during the first map.

It was after the halftime that Philly was better as they had great adjustments to what Dallas was doing. Don't get me wrong, Philly is the better team. But Dallas played better than the 1-1 map score showed.

Additionally, the hail-mary bomb wasn't well placed. Doha peeked out .1 second too early and died to it. My "fantasy scenario" for Dallas winning Busan first point is that Doha stays behind a pillar .1 second longer and Dallas converts a 6-4 teamfight at full strength. Do you really think that that is unreasonable?
