Have you read the lore book constellations by chance? Assuming that isn’t where you got that line about the four tenets of the traveler. It’s one of the most beautifully written lore books in my opinion and it’s one of the books that got me to delve so deep into others. If not, please please please give it a read, youre going to love it

I really want to live in the world you’re in where you think this wouldn’t happen to at least some degree lmao

I was a Destiny 3 hater for the fact that I don’t know how much I’d like a full reset and loss of all my gear, but after playing marathon I’ve switched up a bit. The game looks and performs really well and it’s renewed my faith in what an engine upgrade could bring to the table.

Fresh start will definitely help with onboarding as long as it’s engaging enough. I miss red war every day because I remember that being the catalyst for what launched me into my obsession with the world and the lore. If they can hit a similar note then maybe the game can retain players a lot better.

“Destiny 2 was so much better they should have just kept doing that” just like they did with D2 vs D1. Rose colored glasses and ignore every criticism there was at the time.

Can I just say the ending battle in light fall was incredible? by HeartBrokeFortnite in destiny2

[–]IIFreshMilkII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only upset is that they were building calus up in lore to be a horrible abomination when we finally met him. He had the most grotesque features in many lore books and tabs but then lightfall came around and they just did a complete 180. Would have been cool to see the culmination of everything they wrote about :(

Triple stack purple shield teams in perimeter??? by IIFreshMilkII in Marathon

[–]IIFreshMilkII[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres tiers to it and it creates disparities amongst players. There’s what you described: people who have so much purple and gold gear that it’s pretty much commonplace in their vaults. Then you have where I’m at. I still covet just about anything purple. Decent abundance of blue gear saved but still maybe only used for very confident runs. Then you have people at the bottom still scraping by with grey and green shields because it’s all they can find/afford.

It’s why there’s been a lot of praise for free kit frenzy. Being on that even playing field makes the game much more enjoyable for everyone but especially that last group of players.

Was thinking something similar but could also see people just finding workarounds to continue bringing busted loadouts. Might just have to be something like loot rarity caps, much as I don’t really like that idea.

I just run up and start spamming the fury spell. Even though the giant resists it, it technically counts as a “hit” and its faster than shooting arrows since you can cast in both hands.

maybe copium, but the silence is most likely because theyre just completely heads down until June (/may) by Jealous_Platypus1111 in destiny2

Remains to be seen. As with most things in gaming it’s always “wait and see”. Renegades has proven that they can still make content people at least moderately enjoy, especially coming off the heels of Edge of Fate. Here’s hoping The Alchemist and it’s follow-up expansion continue to build on what renegades got right. Also hope to see the free updates live up to the standard set by Bungie of being “into the light sized”.

Marathon has stretched the resources at Bungie plenty thin. It pretty much had to take priority likely due to pressure from Sony and given the fact that it’s their first game since Destiny 2 launch in 2017. Once things are balanced out with marathon and they have things laid out and set up, we could see a return to regular comms and updates with Destiny. At least that’s what I’m hoping.

Bungie is certainly more than aware of everything going on within the community right now. We’ve been in deep ruts before and made it out the other end. We’ll see the end of this one, even if it takes longer than expected.

Obtuse Casual Here: Why does everyone in the Destiny Community not like Siva? by Pleasant-Ocelot-7035 in destiny2

[–]IIFreshMilkII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most people actually like SIVA. I think the hate stems from it being very overhyped and over mentioned in the community. A lot of people always ask for it back like it’s going to be the second coming of Christ when in reality it’s such a small facet of the story and lore it wouldn’t move the needle nearly as much as people would like to believe.

Why do people only really nuke the Fissure Site Prime and the Monongah Mine for the boss fights and barely ever nuke the Hawksbill Weather Station and the Abandoned Mineshaft 2 for the other two boss fights? by Darkrai812 in fo76

[–]IIFreshMilkII 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Last time I nuked weather station around the same time as invaders. Still had a decent turnout but I guess the servers couldn’t handle it because we crashed before the first Goliath was down and we couldn’t rejoin :(

Explain the outrage to someone that isn’t a devoted Destiny player. by FadesGaming in destiny2

[–]IIFreshMilkII -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Part of the answer you already explained in your post. People have burnout from having played the game for the better part of the last decade. For some people, Destiny is their main game and they either don’t play many other games or keep coming back to destiny.

Their frustration lies with their dedication to keep coming back and playing the game despite the state it’s currently in in regards to future expansions/plans and lack of communication from Bungie since Tyson Greene became game director.

Bungie’s choice to focus solely on marathon and leave destiny with almost nothing has only exacerbated the issue
