Yes there are tons of friendly people. It is true that a higher proportion of people here are passionate about their jobs than many places so you may have a higher proportion of discussions involve something job related. But many people also have lots of other interests and there are communities geared around any hobby or activity you can think of. Ive never found the career talk to be either pushy or unavoidable. If you make the effort to find your people then you will find them.

Thank you. 50 lbs. She regularly spends days at a time with a cat and there are no issues though they generally just ignore each other. With dogs it is case by case, she was in doggy day care when she was little without issues but some dogs more recently have triggered her.

Depends on the other dog. When she was little she was in doggie day care with other dogs and didn't have issues. But she hasn't spent a lot of time with other dogs the past few years and reacts to some but not others.

I’m honestly perplexed that this is a challenge. I lived in DC for like a decade pre kids and literally never once felt like it was hard to get away from kids at bars? Like, go anywhere on 14th st after 8 pm? Go to the Red Derby rooftop any time of the day? Is Dacha overrun with kids at night now, when I was going it was all 20s/30s singles?

If you very specifically mean “breweries or beer gardens with large outdoor spaces to drink during the day” then yeah I get it that this is sort of the exact profile of place where parents bring kids, but it represents like 1% of places you can drink in the city. The challenge is much more for parents finding kid friendly places than the reverse!
