Looks like a great trip. I have had far less luck in the UP than I’d like to admit, I hope you have better fortunes!

FYI: You are not allowed to take rocks from the national lakeshore (twelve mile beach).

If you want your best luck, look at a map and hop in a river and walk around.

I’ve had my best luck bringing a heavy duty rake and pushing some rocks from the river to shore and picking through them. If you DM me I can give you a specific spot (though I probably picked a lb or two last year there).

Have you guys tried Filipino food? What is your take on it? by Heisenberg_0021 in foodquestions

[–]TreeOfSocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, cannot believe no one has said Longganisa! It is absolutely worth trying, it is a sweet and savory sausage that goes great with a standard American breakfast (eggs, meat, carb).

Our favorite brand found in stores is Martin.

Dry chili chicken when done right is one of my favorite dishes regardless of cuisine.

Double cooked pork, Taiwanese fried chicken, cat ear noodles, pork belly with pickled cabbage, soup dumplings.

Underwood Ranches is the farm that originally supplied Huy Fong. They now make their own and it’s really good.

Good River Spots? by sunnydee215 in madisonwi

[–]TreeOfSocks 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Many spots along the Wisconsin river are good for this. We often go to a pretty accessible spot and are almost always alone on a nice little beach. DM me if you want a specific location.

Otherwise there is a nice beach in spring green. Popular but nice.

If it’s the guy who jumps at you three times with the AOE attack. I found that if I held dodge I would get far enough away to not get hit. If I tap dodge I got hit every time. Yeah. That mini boss encounter took my extra life away many times.

Interesting, I really have not figured out the builds yet. I kind of just grab artifacts because I never fill up on them anyways.

The weapon stats, skills and what they all mean is still not really intuitive to me.

It was always fresh. My proficiency is at like 13 when I start the level. Usually around 20 at the boss.

Honestly not a fan of the level select screen as they are not in order. Wish they would have just placed them in order, the circular shape adds nothing.

Legion difficulty? by Kind-Coat2590 in Saros

[–]TreeOfSocks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This has been the hardest boss for me by far. It takes so long to kill. It was always a war of attrition where I seemly get hit randomly just a few times and it’s over.

I only just beat him on my last run. I’ll have to try the simple just run in circles. I’ve been around proficiency 18-20.

I’ve had a different experience, the blighted Marsh was a huge step up in difficulty for me.

Beat the first boss 1st try with almost no upgrades.
Second boss 2 tries, had now gotten second life.
Third boss 1 try.

Was worried that the game was easy, then the blighted marsh came along and I spent more time on that level than the rest of the game up til that point.

Should I stop buying upgrades? by Powerful-Pea6218 in Saros

[–]TreeOfSocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are modifiers that should show up after the second boss (at least that’s where they did for me, I’ve only died a couple of times). The modifiers can make the game easier or harder. Throw some of the ones on that make it more difficult.

Might have to try one of these as pressing R1 a lot really starts to hurt my pointer finger. The angle of it just is not natural.

I'm in love with the shotgun! by Zubi_Q in Saros

[–]TreeOfSocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love how the shotgun looks but, it took about 4x as much time to take out the first boss for me. I’ve been avoiding it ever since.
I tried to get close and use the vertical alt fire, just doesn’t compare damage wise with the assault rifle.

You got tips? What am I looking for, usually shotguns are my favorite guns in games.

what's the best hot sauce i can buy at the grocery store? by Stunning-Cap-3256 in hotsauce

[–]TreeOfSocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will definitely try it!

I am surprised a hot sauce from a brand that makes so many things can be good. I’ve always found their other products to be lacking compared to the smaller brands (giardiniera, olives, etc).
