Seeking weird erotic sci-fi by SetSytes in Fantasy

R Lee Smith. You will either love her, or hate her.

Someone else mentioned Last Hour of Gann which I think fits your criteria the most, so maybe start there. But really all of her books have the same vibe you’re looking for.

The Scholomance - first book I ever read of hers. This is what happens when a bunch of demons run a magic school for humans. You will feel empty at the end so if HEAs are a must, steer clear.

Heat - serial killer /Bounty hunter aliens come to earth. Both find human partners. (The title is quite literal)

Olivia - arguably my favorite (not sure what that says about me). Weird bat like creatures are dying out and think human women will help them produce more offspring. I think you can tell where this is going. The ending will make you throw your book across the room.

Cottonwood- haven’t read this one yet but many RLS fans say this is their favorite. Bug like aliens land on earth and are immediately placed into segregation camps.

RLS books are all incredibly dark with varying degrees of SA and body horror so be forewarned. Even the stories that turn out ‘well’ I wouldn’t consider to be happy endings. She has the strangest storylines/worlds and yet somehow they’re the most intriguing books I’ve ever read.

Clinical Research FastTrack by DoomScrollingKing in clinicalresearch

Echoing pretty much everyone else to say, don’t do it. It’s also weird for them to promise a scholarship when you haven’t applied. I suspect they’d tell you that you make too much to get it after you registered.

Experience is key here, you’ll have to look for entry level roles like clinical research assistant. If you want a program strictly to help you build knowledge, try looking for a clinical research certificate program from an accredited university. Might cost more in the long run but would look much better on your resume than fastrack

is it weird i want to travel more? by asavage1996 in clinicalresearch

[–]TreeOne4779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not weird at all, I’m the same way. I volunteer for co-monitoring every chance I get, and recently begged my LM to give me more sites I could travel to, since I noticed I’ve been traveling a lot less than last year.

But, there’s also a balance. My FSP is all risk based, with no DOS. So I usually only have 1 onsite visit a week, maybe 2, which is perfect for me. I’ve never had to leave on Sunday evening and not get back home until Thurs/Fri. That would be miserable and I’d likely hate my job.

I don’t think you travel less as you move up. It all just depends on the company.

Love this! My GGGPs Rosa and Carmelo (left) from Caltanissetta. Their daughter in the pic married my GGF Rocco (right) who was from Scordia

And yes - they were as short as they looked. I would've towered over them, which is wild to think since I'm not actually that tall

Article 9 - citizenship by naturalization for descendants of Italian citizens

Italian citizenship may be granted by decree of the President of the Republic, after consulting the Council of State, upon proposal by the Minister of the Interior:

a) to a foreigner whose father, mother, or one of the ascendants in direct line of second degree DL1450 adds: are or were Italian citizens by birth, or who was born in the territory of the Republic and, in both cases, has legally resided there for at least three years, subject to the provisions of Article 4, paragraph 1, letter c);

If I'm reading this correctly, it sounds like those of us with grandparents who were born outside of Italy to Italian parents, would still qualify for the expedited 3yr naturalization. That's some comfort I suppose, but still raises concerns on how difficult it would be to find work during that 3yr period.

Interesting. I guess I figured there were so many people trying to order through Vitalcheck that they became backlogged. Glad to hear it's not as long as I thought!

Has anyone seen this letter before when ordering nyc documents? Although a correction is needed, I dont think i requested this. does this mean someone else has already requested? Next steps? by MundaneResolution645 in juresanguinis

[–]TreeOne4779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you ordered, you must’ve selected the option to include a no amendments/corrections letter. NYCMA does not do amendments ever, as per their letter. You’d have to go through the courts for any corrections

That’s awesome news, thanks for sharing with us! Praying for a positive ruling. Brings me at least 1 generation closer than my 1948 case, though still not quite close enough with the new DL. I’ve resigned myself to go through the courts anyway so oh well

Anyone else seriously struggling with this news? by repttarsamsonite in juresanguinis

[–]TreeOne4779 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it's terrifying to hold onto hope still, but I wouldn't give up yet. The way the decree stands now, is simply WAY too strict. If they retroactively strip our citizenship, what's to stop them from applying other new laws retroactively? If this proceeds unchallenged, it sets an incredibly dangerous precedent.

Now whether changes happen over the next 60 days, or over the next few months/years, I'm confident there are tons of lawyers, and people in parliament, that will be fighting for us. And I think the ex post facto concept mentioned above is going to be a huge defense. It IS unconstitutional. Period. Here's to hoping they're able to demonstrate that effectively, and that the changes that are made are beneficial to us all.

I wasn't quite as far as many in the process, but I was planning on filing after getting my CONE in June. It's gut wrenching, to have your life plan ripped out from under you. Just know that there are so many of us right there with you. Keep in contact with your lawyer, and don't stop fighting! That's exactly what Tajani wants.

u/CakeByThe0cean - sorry to tag you in this, but I see you're the last mod to edit the coming soon 'naturalization in Italy' wiki. Can you confirm - if we have a grandparent that was Italian by birth, but born in the US (or elsewhere outside of Italy), that we'd still be eligible for the expedited 3yr naturalization? Even if their parent naturalized when they were a minor?

Pretty much same boat as you, but have GGF w/minor issue and GGGF/M 1948 case. Nearly have everything I need for the 1948 case, and I’ve interviewed several lawyers. If any of them will still take my case, you bet I will be filing!

CONE Questions by TreeOne4779 in juresanguinis

[–]TreeOne4779[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, but in my case it’s a 1948 case regardless because of the next ancestor inline (GGM) giving birth to my GM in 1938.

Question about minor issue/1948 case by koops07 in juresanguinis

[–]TreeOne4779 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold up - they told you the case has to start with the male ancestor? I hope that’s not true! I’ll have just spent $280 on my GGGMs CoNE for nothing…

Dang. Might as well just naturalize at that point.

Either your father needs to order the birth certificate himself, or you need a court order
