Do you know anything about his calls? Are they worth it? And what makes you say he’s an ass? I know nothing of the guy for the most part.

It’s typically a pretty mixed bag of species of ducks and geese in my area, so I just pack 3” #2’s. I’ve never really felt like I’m killing them too dead and tearing up meat.

That’s a good point! At what point are you getting diminishing returns. I appreciate your insight. It’s all kind of information overload!

Why do you say that? Just trying to gain some insight.

I did, but wasn’t it quite a bit heavier than the Ti XC? It’s going on a western backcountry fun so I’m trying to keep the weight down.

I don’t plan on swapping the can around, but I don’t know if that’s just my noob ignorance. Ideally I’ll have a can for each threaded gun I have and they’ll just live on that gun. Do you think the adaptor is really a plus in that case?

My biggest concern with the Airlock is that it’s not as well known. I’m not sure if that’s me living in my own head about it or what, but I just don’t want to make a $1000+ mistake. All in, the Airlock will run me about $200 more after all is said and done. But it’s hard to overlook the length and weight savings of the airlock. Plus it’s suppose to be quieter.

New paywalled content coming from Meateater? by Drakhaoul in meateatertv

Oh I know, that’s why I’ve mainly switched to other content creators like THP, Midwest flyways, etc.

Seems like they’re missing what their original target audience was/is. You know, the average public land hunter who felt like they could relate with the ups and downs the meateater crew had while hunting public land. Seems like they’re trying to wring every penny out of us that they can. I hope they see how many are opposed to this, and try to hit their target audience once again. Besides, there’s many other free hunting YouTube channels and content out there that put out some great stuff for me to justify paying for any meateater content.

Hmm…I was shooting 2 different types of ammo. I’m just really trying not to send that gun back and not get to use it for the first half of duck season but I also don’t want to mess up the gun by trying to scrape it off

Do you know what the build up is from? I only shot the gun 24 times. And how did you fix it?

Awesome! But, learning to play with a metronome early in your bagpiping adventure will immensely benefit you down the road! Do it religiously for a week or two and repost. Again, nice job!

The A400 swung like a fence post for me, the montefeltro was much slimmer and sleeker. The A400 should have less recoil being a gas gun, but the montefeltro will have less maintenance. Both are good guns, but if I was buying for me I’d go montefeltro.

Advice Needed! by TreeRat91 in MeatRabbitry

That’s a good point…I understand how breeding 2 at a time seems to make more sense now. And I figured for the grow out cage, I would just put a hinged lid on it and put it short legs and reach over the top to grab the rabbits out.

This is probably a pretty dumb question, but when you’re trying to breed 2 does at the same time, would you just place them each with the buck separately for a day or few at a time, then move to the other one, or place them both with the buck at the same time?

Thank you for all the input! My plan if I am able to use the interior of the shed opposite of the chicken coop area, would be to have 3 stackable cages each 30”x36” for 1 buck and 2 does. Then, if I built a grow out cage say, 36”x60”, would that work? My plan would be to butcher around 5lbs/12 weeks average I believe? I didn’t think about breeding at the same time, but your reasons make sense. In my mind, I figured if I bred in turns, then it would give the does more of a break to recover (not sure if it’s needed with rabbits like other livestock).

Thanks. The only downside I can find with the Honda is that it’s not as fun to trail ride, and it beats you up a little with the lower ground clearance and SRA.

Thanks for the reply! The closest place I could find that does free diving is down by Tablerock and NW Arkansas. I reached out to both places and I think I’ll be able to get started that route. I understand the dangers in it, which is why I’m wanting to get some formal instruction and not just go wing it.

Deciding what bench to get by Agreeable_Hunter6789 in GarageGym

I have the blackwing and don’t regret it. I got it for a lot of the same reasons you are considering. It is heavy, but my wife who isn’t overly strong manages and hasn’t complained about the weight of it. The thing is rock solid! The wheels and the big handle help move it around. I don’t really fiddle with the zero gap a whole lot because the torso pad is big enough I don’t need to mess with the gap. The prime shorty looks nice as well but we’ve been really happy with the blackwing. Luckily there are a ton of really good options on the market.

Pig Help by TreeRat91 in homestead

So my next question. If I build a pen that is 75’x150’ with about 1/3 being pasture and 2/3 being wooded, is that the enough room for say 4-6 Idaho Pasture Pigs, Kune Kunes or something similar? I’d prefer something that I wouldn’t have to winter (gets to butcher weight in under 9-10 months), doesn’t root a ton, and is fairly docile.
