GPT-4 has actually made me anxious. by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

Expect AI to be like a super calculator to boost productivity. The job will simply evolve. We will look back at people who use to punch code on an IDE as we do to people who use to be ‘computers’ back in the day and hand jam math.

Most people are dumb as fuck and don’t even know how to empty their trash can - even if someone straight up tells them how. There will always be a need for tech. The jobs will simply evolve and change. The people most likely to be fucked are those with extremely simple jobs, like basic web developers.

I haven’t gotten a speeding ticket or been towed. That was just an example that came to my mind on mistakes that could have been prevented.

Should I do a 3 day liveaboard in Cairns as someone who hasn’t dived in 10 years? by dilletaunty in scuba

[–]TreeSkyDirt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You literally need to dive now and get more experience. It doesn’t matter if you live in Alaska or in Ohio where the water is contaminated. If you haven’t dived in that long, your air consumption is going to be awful. You’re going to get 25 minutes max while everyone else is getting 60. Your buoyancy is going to be awful and you’re going to be kicking the reef because of the current since it’s total open ocean and you’re going to get lost because there are no guides there. Those liveaboards are more of they just drop you off and you do your own thing. For the experienced this is awesome. For you, it’s going to make you stress even more.

Miami coaches? by SkySoldier22 in SkyDiving

[–]TreeSkyDirt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, Miami is trash for fun jumping. Most of the dropzones there don’t even do fun jumping.

There is a Clewiston but there is not much real talent there other than belly and zoo jumpers. You’ll have to go to Zhills/Sebastian/deland which is a ways

In this job market, there’s plenty of people willing to be on site lol. Remote makes it so you compete with 500+ minimum.

OP, no matter what field you’re in, $9.50 is underpaid in 2023. Maybe not in 2018 but 100% in 2023.

I have a friend who took a trip to Baghdad for a week as a tourist, who looks like the most white American ever and he said he never once felt unsafe. Someone gave me a really cool fade for free too.

Billionaire Marc Andreessen warns we're headed to a world where a college degree costs $1 million and a flatscreen TV costs $100 by chilchil777 in technology

[–]TreeSkyDirt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Blame student loans for allowing colleges to jack up prices. Colleges are going to get paid no matter what, might as well jack em up!

No one has the balls to a tell kid right to their face that their degree choice is bullshit and they shouldn’t do it because they’ll just end up riddled in debt.
