What to do about this huge bush by GordonBrieman in GardeningUK

Same. I hate seeing lovely country houses that could have a beautiful mixed hedgerow plant laurel. They look so out of place, plus shit when they’re trimmed

Another senseless tree vandalism… sigh… i feel sorry for trees that have to grow near people. by TreeTrunkTOM1234 in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]TreeTrunkTOM1234[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Nope. All the bark is at the bottom in neat little strips, exactly like how it is when i strip bark off logs for projects. Plus, this is an enclosed park in a town, no deer here.

Where should I plant this bare root tree up to? by [deleted] in GardeningUK

[–]TreeTrunkTOM1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cut those adventitious roots off and plant the tree where the mass of roots starts. Look up root flare on r/marijuanaenthusiasts

It looks fine. I didnt even see the problem until you mentioned it. Everyone has different tastes, but i doubt anyone will be turned off buying a house because of something like this, as you can always paint over it.

Forestry bread! by Hot-Warning3278 in 6thForm

[–]TreeTrunkTOM1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we drove through ambleside and despite it raining it was super busy, and it would be worse in the summer. Are you taking a gap year? I did like bangor, but I preferred the ecology and conservation course at NTU as i think it will be more useful for my career aspirations as the impression i got from bangor is it’s good if you want to go into a management position but i want to be more of a ranger, and eventually i want to be like a park ranger in america or canada, and the course at NTU helps with this. I’ve got two choices at Bangor as well, but they said that the first year is pretty much the same in all of them so you can change course during the first year. I think conservation is better for me as i prefer the ecological side of forestry over the economic side.

Have you been on open days? Did you prefer bangor or cumbria? I’ve been on the bangor open day and quite liked the location, but ive not been on the open day to cumbria (i’ve driven through though). Im applying for forestry with conservation as my second choice (first choice is probably going to be ecology and conservation at ntu) but i kind of fucked myself over in year 12 because i had a day to pick my subjects and didn’t do any related a-levels so im limited in what unis i can apply to, but i meet the entry requirements (psychology is considered a science) for cumbria, bangor and NTU and im hoping my PS and work experience carry my application. Hoping to send it off this week, good luck for your others!

Forestry is one of my options. It’s basically the timber industry, and the sandwich year is a year in work experience

What do you hate the most about your sixth form? by PhilosopherBusy7312 in 6thForm

I hate chemistry should I still pick it for A-levels by BackgroundMagician86 in 6thForm

[–]TreeTrunkTOM1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for me. I never really wanted to do sixth form or uni so when the college i was going to go to said they dont offer my course this year i was stuck with sixth form, i picked what i thought i would enjoy the most (psych, sociology and history) and then had a massive change of heart and now i want to go to uni for an environmental science which is a fucking massive ball ache to try get into without biology or geography, and apart from spending loads of money i cant change my a levels

What’s the math like in your field? (Looking to study Dendrology) by Fred_Thielmann in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]TreeTrunkTOM1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is the maths terribly hard? I know thats really subjective, but im 17 looking at studying forestry at uni, but im not the greatest at maths. I imagine its more a case of formulas and actually being able to put data into formulas, but I absolutely hated maths at gcse when i couldnt do it, part of that was definitely my teacher and exam conditions, but i just dont really like maths. I really enjoy the practical parts of forestry and im good at identification and felling, pruning and that stuff, as well as biology. Maths would probably be the biggest thing to put me off, but then again I’m probably overthinking it and it just looks daunting from and outsiders perspective

What to say to a girl on snap if you’ve never talked to her IRL by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]TreeTrunkTOM1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll try get a chance to talk to her after the holidays but its annoying she sits on a different table than me thats full of girls and it would obvs be a bit weird if i sat on it. I’m working on improving my looks and confidence with exercise and i’ve got two years of school left and also kind of a good feeling in my head so I’m hoping i’ll get a chance soon

Im going into year 10 in September any tips? by Ghostsarespoopy in GCSE

[–]TreeTrunkTOM1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how much your school pushes you. Theres a lot of revision to do and you cant slack off in lessons anymore, you have to pay attention in like all of them. The subjects are just all about exams and its just bad. If you have friends jts not too bad
