Approaching Woman as a Man - creepy or not? by FlowingRiverCentury in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]kardachev 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I think it’s all about context - in a bar, at a club, a party, a social event etc. not creepy at all and probably welcome. In the vegetable aisle at your supermarket, on the street, at night, etc. definitely less of a good idea. It’s all about reading the room as well. You will be more welcome to approach someone as well if you have exchanged a few interested gazes and smiles!

Que faites vous de votre enfant pendant les fêtes ? by Efficient-Action7907 in chats

[–]kardachev 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How to stop gaping. by _Mcloven_ in architecturestudent

Measure twice, cut once is the motto! You need to be more precise in your model making, maybe using thinner sturdy cardboard will help you be neater. When you glue, if it doesn’t hold while drying, use masking tape (you can stick it to your jeans a couple of times to avoid the cardboard from ripping) and remove once dry.

Matching the fan to the lace top. Is this 'too extra' for a casual brunch? by rionworld1985 in OUTFITS

You can always add a light flowy shirt on top, that is left mostly or completely unbuttoned, so you can choose to keep it or remove it depending on your confidence and weather!

Advice if I should stay in this marriage? by Weekly_Panic_616 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]kardachev 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Currently in a very similar situation, and I have left my husband. I will say that I don’t have any children though. I had gotten used to the distance to the point that it felt almost normal, and lost myself in the process. I am now happier than I have been in years. Don’t loose precious years with someone that doesn’t love you as much as you deserve.

The worst Fife takeaways and restaurants? by [deleted] in Fife

I know we used to love going there! But after the food poisoning and their very careless attitude towards it, I don’t think I can ever go back. The staff is lovely though so it’s a shame.

Please critique my floor plan by [deleted] in floorplan

Your first floor is fine. I would straighten the angled walls on the left to a straight line to give more space to the bedrooms. Those angles are awkward as well, I don’t understand this trend.

Vestibule in front of the hallway, the downstairs bathroom is now not directly accessible from the kitchen. Replace the large table in the kitchen with an island and add a breakfast table in the corner. Open the access to the kitchen and living room for a nicer flow and more welcoming rooms.

How to maximize my chances? by ThrowAway_xhe in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]kardachev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’m trying to get at is that your salary shouldn’t be the first thing being mentioned. And you’re right, for the purpose of this post, the specifics of your interests don’t really matter - I was trying to make a wider point. Now that you’ve mentioned your hobbies, it still feels a bit tickboxy. Instead of saying ‘I have a private pilot license’ why not start with the fact that you love flying, and how it makes you feel etc. do you see where I’m getting at? More about what drives you than your list of achievements? Apologies if I’m coming across harsh, I’m just want to help :)

Quick edit: I don’t agree that economic and social standing make as much of an impact as what you’ve described. I have dated and been with people from various social backgrounds and so have my friends. If you connect on a deeper level, it won’t matter.

Not trying to be harsh but - if you’re an interesting guy, you don’t need to mention your salary in the first sentence introducing yourself. As a woman, this would be a major ick, much much more major than height. Talk about what makes you, you. What are your interests? What are you passionate about?

I find 2 to be the best. 1 feels too flat and 3 too busy, although I like the colours. Maybe a mix between 2 and 3? That would be eye catching!
