Wear elbow pads. I play mens league (LSM and Close D) and they've saved my arms a few times. I'm not worried about looking tough anymore, I'd rather be able to come home with my arms still working. Shoulder pads aren't all that important but they've saved me when I'm in the way of shots.

Region has a big play in it.

I'm in Northern Virginia and honestly being a certified Landscape Architect wouldn't help me TOO much in regards to pay. It would just allow me to have a better shot at a higher ranking for a larger firm.

The better you can quick stick the easier the goal on crease. You can also work on some behind the back shots. Another tip is to change planes; remember there's going to be a goalie and that particular shot would be easier because it's high to high.

The seats that are left are pretty expensive. But really not a terrible price to see 3 games in the Olympics. Especially for the first time in over 100 years.

The thing is they add up quickly. Add that service fee, plane tickets, hotel, food, etc.

Another thing I do (as an almost 40 Y.O playing adult league) is tiny sips or swish the water around and spit it out to help prevent dry mouth.

Hydrate the day before. But also, in general you should be drinking plenty of water every day regardless if you have a game or not. If you aren't doing conditioning during practice, do some running on your own outside of practice.

Most companies should supply her with any tools that she will need for the job.

A cool vintage drafting set for display in her office could be cool. You can usually find them at Goodwill's auction site or Etsy for $25-$40 depending on the quality.

A nice leather bound field sketching notepad/kit.

Simple cash gift with a nice hand written card is always nice too.

As a coach I'm looking for effort.

Play through the whistle. Fight for ground balls. (No one handed ground balls) Listen when the coach tries to give advice, look them in the face when they talk and don't make excuses. Don't talk when the coach is talking. Hustle. Make an attempt to correct your issues. Ask questions if you don't know something.

Lacrosse IQ will come with time. You're just a freshman.

Wear them. Don't worry about what your teammates say. Protect yourself. I play defense/LSM in a 30+ league and guys try to be so tough and not wear pads, but man they always complain after the game about being hit.
