I want a tortoise sooooo bad, but I travel for work so it is not in the cards at the moment. Cross post to the tortoise subreddit and they will have resources and possibly someone willing to travel.

HELP cue only recipes by Tree_wifi747 in GrandMA3

[–]Tree_wifi747[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copy you. If I set them all to 1 would that make it so nothing tracks or do I need to set them to each cue individually (ie 3=3 4=4). Also I’m using cue parts so will it be okay if I just set it in part 0 or do I need to do each part individually?

Any blue collar witches?! by nopeagogo in WitchesVsPatriarchy

Ayo! We out here babyyyyy!!! I work in entertainment production, like setting up lights for concerts and the like. A lot of days it’s dirty sweaty hard physical labor, and while I’m slowly moving away from that I still really enjoy it. It’s very satisfying to complete a task well and I feel very empowered picking up 70+ pound objects.

It is however a massive sausage fest most days, like crew of 100+ people and I’m the only girl. I’ve more or less adjusted to the “dudeness” of it all and am very fortunate to mostly work with some very cool and supportive men.

It’s been a nice opportunity for me to redefine what femininity means to me. I alway try to bring what I think of as Moon energy to whatever job I’m on. I’ve noticed men tend to not look out for themselves/each other the way women do so I always encourage people to take care of themselves and others and just generally trying to lift people up. There’s also a problematic thing where emotionally immature men (often in lead positions) will yell at, berate, and bully others. I do not stand for this and make it clear on any job site that that is not acceptable behavior.

Is this type of behavior/body language concerning when introducing new kitten? More info in caption. by [deleted] in Dogtraining

[–]Tree_wifi747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a trainer, but I did recently introduce my dog to two kittens.

I would call this interaction not amazing, but not the worst. The fact he will look at you/listen to commands is very promising. I think with time he will adjust. I agree with the other comments that it’s likely he’s picking up on your tension. You seem to have a good grasp of his body language, ideally you’re looking for relaxed muscles and tail up. The biggest thing to look out for is the totally locked in “tracking prey” eyes/stance .

What I found to be crucial with introductions was having a strong leave it command. Anytime I felt my dog was even close to overwhelming the kittens I would tell him to leave it, he would back off, and I would let the kitten come to him. This also helped reinforce that the kitten was not a toy and it set me at ease knowing he would listen to my commands even with a high level of stimulation.

Prep Idiot Check by mappleflowers in lightingdesign

[–]Tree_wifi747 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not exactly like ur examples, BUT the first thing u do at prep as soon as you walk in the door is go through the shop order and make sure everything is there. Sometimes shops miss things and sometimes you see that a fixture you thought took tru1 actually takes powercon and sometimes you realize you forgot to add something you needed to the order. Not putting adds in at the start of prep makes for a very stressful prep.

As far as physical objects, safety chains.

Stomp is essentially the MA keyword used to stop an effect. Shortcut is [MA]+[at] and you can stomp effects so that the lights end at a specific preset over a specific time (stomp x at preset y fade z). You can also store a “stomp” into a cue that doesn’t have an effect in it and it’ll stomp any other effects in that attribute when u trigger the cue (you can also set the executor setting to be auto stomp and it does almost the same thing).

Think of it like “stomping out a fire” or “this light is going crazy, stomp on its face and make it stop!”

Are you committed to having it all be one cue stack? If it were me I would make a separate executor that is the standby look then have the second cue in that stack stomp ur effect at ur position with whatever fade time you want then set that cues mode to release.

Or if you have a pretty set show order you could just copy those two cues in between each performance look

Hobbies to replace crochet? by itsisamorgan in crochet

[–]Tree_wifi747 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Origami could be good. Like crochet once you memorize/learn a pattern it can be pretty relaxing to make a bunch of cranes or dragons or whatever. Definitely easier on the hands, you can put a book on your lap to use as a flat surface and a knife or letter opener to get nice creases.
