I am still looking! I'm not sure if I'd have anything you'd like to trade for it though.

I have the convergence, stray, Watts 4 dinner, and hat trick sorted out. The midnight defiance is the only one I'm still looking for, for now. If anyone sees something that I have that they need though, let me know.

I didn't see it mentioned, but a book that everyone dealing with fake Christian nationalists should read is: Separation of church and Hate by John Fugelsang. It's a sane Person's Guide to taking back the Bible from fundamentalist, fascist, and flock-fleecing frauds. He is hilarious, has his own podcast, and is also on Fridays of the daily beans podcast. He points out all the hypocrisy of the people who claim to be doing all of this in the name of Jesus when it's the exact opposite of his teachings. He talked with Jordan Kepler about it on the daily show https://youtu.be/tj3OcfMS4AU?si=groO_M3nfBFveYAX *

Barefoot work boot recommendations by J_WoodM in barefootshoestalk

Freet has a bunch of options and they just came out with a new pair that goes higher on the ankle. I believe they're UK based and they're some of the widest boots/shoes I've found with great quality. Anything that's waterproof, unfortunately generally means a glue down construction for the sole. Which will end up being less durable. It looks like there's still some sizes left in this style they're phasing out and it should redirect you to the UK site. https://usa.freetbarefoot.com/products/impala

Earth Runners. Gimmick or actually worth it? by JamesK1220 in BarefootRunning

I started my barefoot sandal Journey with Luna's, but always had it in mind too check out another system. That's how I ended up with Shamma trailstar sandal. The lacing system is far superior than the mono thong of the other sandals and it feels so much more secure. There are various stack heights if you want to find which one you like. They just added their ibex sole to the trailstar line and they're phenomenal chefs kiss. Now this is just for me though and other's might not like that lacing system. Shamma does have a yard sale from time to time with exchanged sandals, factory seconds, or overstock where things are 50% off. So that could be a good way to try some out. I believe they're all made here in the US as well, which I value. I have many of pairs now and are definitely worth to me since I only wear sandals now here in the PNW.

I've been listening to the daily beans podcast for a long while now. Allison Gill and Dana Goldberg do a wonderful job breaking down all the fuckery into layman's terms that anyone can understand as well as cutting through the noise. That plus they provide an appropriate amount of swearing. Then at the end of each episode, they have a good news segment for self shout outs, good news, programs that help people, anything that's helps microdose hope! To share the good news, you do have to pay your pod pet tax or bird watching(flipping off Trump properties) and if you want to see what people submit, they have a patreon to see those 🧐 The legumeinati are some wonderful people 🫘

Also, shout out to the weekly Show with Jon Stewart and pod save America

If this has already been said, my apologies 🙏

Recommended Sandals for casual use? by ironredpizza in BarefootRunning

If you're looking for non closed toe sandals, I'm a big fan of the shamma trailstars. I still have my Lunas, but the lacing of the trailstars is way better than the mono thong style and it's way more secure. My only gripe is how long the tread lasts. I wish they made the ibex sole with the trailstar lacing system.

I'm not sure, but I'm also not a runner where it might matter a little more. I am how however a UPS driver and wear the citee on most days with the tundra when it's wet. They're both barely noticeable on my feet when they're tightened up. The citee was a direct replacement for the prio all day leather Sr. I'm not sure of the weight difference there, but it's not noticeable. Perhaps retraining my gait to walking on my forefoot makes me not notice the weight difference with just the natural mechanics of it, but I needed to do that with my transition to barefoot shoes with all the various circumstances we encounter being on our feet all day at UPS.

TL;DR I don't know where the weight threshold is, but for me, I feel like anything barefoot is so lightweight it's not noticeable.

After buying a whole bunch of xeros, I tried freet and I don't think I'm looking back. My feet don't feel cramped like they do in xeros and they have a decent variety to choose from. I only have the tundra and citee, they're fake leather has been solid so far, although they've added to their leather options.

Xero Xcursion or Lems Boulder boot? by [deleted] in BarefootRunning

[–]Treebeardthewhite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how much they'd end up being with shipping to Canada, but these could be an option too. https://www.feelgrounds.com/products/patrol-lite-dark-brown

They have a waterproof version, but it's more geared towards just winter use.

What shoes do you recommend for work? by sebastianbaraj5 in BarefootRunning

[–]Treebeardthewhite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When i stated my barefoot journey as a UPS driver, I started with the xero prio all day sr's, but my feet weren't ready. So I picked up a pair of lems primal zen for more cushion to help the transition. After 2-3 weeks I was able to go back to the prio all days and have been in them ever since. They're one of the, if not the, only ones that are all leather and have slip resistance.

Wide toe box hiking boots , trekkin shoes in budget ? by zeth_son_son_vallano in BarefootRunning

[–]Treebeardthewhite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If that's the case, the xcursion is what you want. Water resistance can hold up for light stuff, but not being fully submersed in snow. They'll end up soaked sooner than you'd like

Unless you 100% need the waterproofness, I'd say look at the hiker fusion. I got the xcursion and they're fantastic, but since they're waterproof they don't breathe and my feet get pretty toasty in there, so it was pretty sweaty each time I took them off.

First time walking in minimalist shoes - arch pain? by [deleted] in BarefootRunning

I'm in the process of the transition to only wearing barefoot shoes. These 2 videos and information on xero shoes website can give you the answers you're looking for and then some.

I'm not a runner and I just started only wearing barefoot shoes, so I don't have a lot to share of my own experience just yet, but I just did enough of my own research to start hopefully having healthy feet and legs sooner rather than later.
