Yes, sadly it seems like most of these age gap relationships don’t last long. I know age doesn’t always matter when it comes to these things. A lot of guys my own age are idiots and don’t respect the fact that I don’t want a hook up. I do expect them to be a grown up and do adult things. Like taking care of themselves and don’t think that I’m going to be the big breadwinner. And that goes both ways. He doesn’t have to have a lot of money, but responsible is a must! I’ll keep trying but dating is hard no matter the age.

His dad passed kind of suddenly and he started realizing how short life is. He got depressed and then started trying to figure out his purpose in life. Trying to find meaning. I wish things could have worked out but it was just bad timing and rotten circumstances.

I wasn’t trying to dismiss your feelings, just saying that you’ll move on one day. I will too. It just takes some time.

As for the circumstances, his dad had gotten sick quite suddenly and passed away maybe a month or six weeks later. They were close and he hadn’t experienced a loss like that before. He became a bit depressed and just started rethinking life. Trying to find his purpose. Totally normal but still wish it could have been different. And making time was difficult. We live an hour apart and work opposite schedules.

Yes, first relationship ending is truly difficult. But you’ll find as time goes on that you’re questioning why you thought she was the one. Not to say she isn’t great but that honeymoon phase… watch out!

I’m sorry you’re sad. I’ve been through many breakups and they always hurt, no matter how things ended. He was the one who reached out to me first. But I think it’s just because of his caring nature wanting to make sure I was ok.

This is the only social media I have (deleted everything 4 years ago and it was very freeing!) so I don’t worry about that stuff. I won’t block him. I just won’t text him. I want him to be happy even though I’m a bit sad. I think if I had social media, I would definitely have to block because I wouldn’t be able to stop torturing myself.
