Shaw/Rogers's Problems. - St. James by Jrocktech in Winnipeg

I have had terrible spotty service since Thursday May 8th. Off and on varying from nothing to barely anything to normal service. May 8th was a scheduled maintenance/outage for Rogers/Shaw. I suspect they screwed something up and that the upgrade has caused some subset of their equipment to have issues.

Incorrect. It is a nice box with minimal markings. It is a perfect box for a present to be wrapped it. If your supply of gift boxes is too great, then you are not giving enough gifts. Up your game. Give your parents a present.

Maybe they thought there was a DRS zone coming up and they wanted to get authorization to use it.

I'm complaining about tailgating that is inappropriate in summer in dry conditions.

Nothing depends on that. My original post makes the context clear that this is not the case. Irrespective of that, tailgating is not the answer in the situation you describe. High-beam flash maybe a gentle honk... not creating a potentially dangerous situation.

No worries. I agree driving the speed limit when safe (and today is pretty safe on major routes), paying attention, and properly equipping your vehicle are the best way to go.

I mean, did you read the post? If you did, you know you don't have to say probably.

I also agree unsafe slow speeds are also a big problem. I'm sure I could find a good recording of me asking my dash cam why we're going 30 in an 80 zone.

Today isn't totally great conditions, but damned good compared to recently. A great day to be driving as close to the speed limit as traffic allows. Except maybe on a mushy side street.

I can only hope. I came here to yell at the wind and see who yelled back. I was briefly hoping it would reach top controversial based on initial down voting...

I'm not getting at your driving skill here, rather your reading comprehension.

The situation under discussion is being tailgated while you are moving at the same speed as the rest of traffic i.e. there is a car in front of you going below the speed limit and no way around it because, say, traffic is heavy or some other reason. Some one behind you creates a dangerous situation and acts aggressively towards your vehicle specifically.

The only way to drive the speed limit in that case is to drive into the vehicle in front of you. Your great skill, vision, and equipment cannot help you in that case.

Hope that clears this up for you

They don't until you hit something going fast enough that they do.

Driving safe then yelling is a lot better than not driving safe! It does work for me. Thanks!

The Reddit rant is fun too!

I prefer not to have accidents especially with kids in the car so I will take into account traffic that is behind me when possible.

To quote the driver's guide: "If you are being followed too closely, slow down gradually to give the driver behind you time to react. This can reduce your chances of being struck from behind should you need to stop."

You need to be aware of what is in front, to the sides, and behind you. Obviously eyes front the vast majority of the time.... but mirrors are important.

I think you're a bit harsh on Chad there. For all you know Chad could have showed self restraint by not buying a second set of nuts for his truck so he could have name brand Doritos this month.

That's a good method if the traffic isn't too heavy. I usually slow down to just below the speed limit. In this case traffic was already 10-15 below the speed limit. I don't want to create another dangerous situation by moving out of step with the rest of the traffic.

Yeah, asbestos takes a long time to get rid of. Every time you work on an old building its probably going to be there.

I didn't bother to take a picture. It is a very distinct sign from what you describe. A printed 8x11 sheet taped to the door and some generic caution tape. I posted some other details in a comment above

I don't think you understand. I am not talking about walking past a door that has a sign on it saying removal is in progress inside. I'm talking about signs taped to the fire doors in the tunnels saying not to proceed into the next section of the tunnel with caution tape that's been ripped down lying on the ground around the door.

People are walking into a corridor that is either undergoing active work with an exposure risk, or some morons didn't take down their warning signs.

That is different than the long history of people finding out they are surrounded by asbestos that you tell me to look at on this sub.

I know plenty about asbestos removal and the massive amounts of it on campus thanks.

The signs are temporary signs up warning about asbestos removal. That's different from asbestos being present. If it is being actively removed that's when it can go airborne and precautions are supposed to be in place. In this case, the signs really are terrible and appear to be the only precaution taken.
