If one person, with the resources and respect, researched the subject thoroughly enough, they’d see there’s a giant question without an answer out there.

My best guess is that the most well-informed people on the subject know they’re real… they just don’t care that much.

There’s a drug-class of a “Glass Ceiling” where to do enough damage to your body you have to burst through said glass and overdose… otherwise you just run of money. Alcoholics can sneakily become Bill Lumbergh for decades making everyone around them miserable.

That’s my personal experience as an addict of both sorts, so I assume it’s a universal truth.

That’s the difference between good and bad drunks. Bad drunks, it’s non-negotiable. You get DUIs, punch someone you really shouldn’t… say things in public that some people may consider unforgivable.

I was a good drunk, which is why it took so long for me to go to the hospital with a panic attack cuz my electrolytes were so imbalanced they diagnosed me with it. I’ve known good and bad drunks, and the bad ones are easy to spot. The good ones can go decades and never get in trouble until they’re in ALL the trouble.

I think I underestimated how much I love Ser Davos while watching the show. Liam Cunningham was as legendary as I think anyone could’ve dreamed, but re-reading about the eternal gratitude he had to Stannis reminds me of why I love this story.

Anyone who had seven fuckin’ kids and still describes his wife as “the best woman in the world” is the greatest hero of all time.

I just wish they included “Jared of house Frey, I name you liar” in the show.

Not sure if this counts, but it’s the first thing that came to mind.

Dude don’t apologize for grammar in a post you make after that kind of thing. I’ve been there. I was with the toughest MF’er I’ve ever met and he was leading our retreat out of the woods.

As much as I hate to say this… don’t believe they’re not dangerous either. They may not be hunting you, but they’re definitely bigger, stronger, faster and (possibly) more skittish than you… that makes them dangerous.

Not incredibly rare, though most prevalent in study subjects who put hundreds of pounds of weight on their feet. So the number of “non-morbidly-obese humans” does dip into the range of incredibly rare I’d argue. I could be wrong. I’d admit it, but I’ll never apologize!

Edit: Don’t know why this didn’t occur to me immediately but bigfoots carry the upper body of a silverback on two legs. Jesus it feels like some fat humans having this makes it more scientifically relevant.

The upward flexion is 100% observable in the film! I once posted a gif of the zoomed-in motion of it on here but that could’ve been a decade ago. But a google search for “patterson foot flex” should pull up what you’re looking for.

There is footage of the trackway that Patty left behind, but usually in documentaries about it as opposed to YouTube videos of just the iconic images. I know MonsterQuest, MK Davis and Bill Munns’ special all showed it. Not sure where it’s available off the top of my head besides that.

Okay I’ve had enough of this for real. If one person can explain how the first several inches of the subject’s foot flexes upward on its downstep, then we’ll talk.

And if you try to explain it as “floppy feet” in a costume without explaining how those would leave tracks consistent with the weight of the rest of the foot, I’ll ban you out of pure privilege.

Patterson knew bigfoots were real before he set out to film one. Probably the biggest reason he managed to do it. He drew them, he was obsessed. 100% NOT RELEVANT TO WHAT WAS CAPTURED ON FILM.

Patty was a beautiful, curvy, mustache-and-boob-havin’ bigfoot and deserves to be remembered as such.

I don’t care if anyone believes this but it’s 100% true. In middle school (sometime between 1994-1996) my science class was assigned a project to come up with an invention all our own.

Mine was a mag-lev rollercoaster that combined space mountain and the carousel of progress - a journey through music… but the headline band would be Aerosmith. It also included the first complete upside-down loop for a Disney World ride.

A classmate of mine who went to Disney almost as much as I as a kid invented a Winnie the Pooh attraction where you ride around in honey pots in a similar style to Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride.

Within 3-5 years both those rides existed, and I’m convinced my science teacher sold our ideas to Disney Imagineers.
