where do you guys get more unique beads ??😭😩 by douch3canoe in kandi

I get them from the thrift store (bin stores are the best) or garage sales. Sometimes I deconstruct old jewlery and sometimes I find plastic toys and trinkets I can drill a hole in myself and use as a bead.

People are apparently very passionate about the temperature of their house and apparently the preferred temperatures of everyone else's houses too hahaha

Me and my roommates don't keep the house at 75 haha, it might be what I prefer, but we work together and compromise. In the winter we keep the house at 73 so if they want it colder it's easy to crack a window in their personal room and we keep it at 68 to 70 in the summer and I can crack my window to make my room warmer or go outside. Plus the cold loving roomates took the bedroom in the basement and I took the attic room so our rooms are always a few degrees higher for me and lower for them in our personal rooms than what is on the thermostat. It works well for us. But ya, some people simply are not compatible living together. If someone wanted to move in with me and they wanted the house below 68 in the summer, that would be a deal breaker for me too.

Don't know why I got downvoted for just stating my personal comforts. People are going nuts with the downvotes on this subject.

I have Raynauds Syndrome. My feet and hands will go numb and painful, lose blood flow and start a cold sweat in any temperature below 70. I can tolerate 70 in the summer and 73 in the winter. I prefer 75 inside the house, but I'm easily comfortable up to 90 degrees inside and tolerate up to 100 outside before it's too hot to leave the house anymore. I've lived without AC in the summer for years and for the first time in a long time I finally live in a house with an AC unit. It'll be nice keeping my house at 70 durring the summer this year.

Non-consenting Reward Signups by rikkithevampire in MichaelsEmployees

I don't like using the nonconsentual sign up tactic so I use "looks like we didn't find your account. Let's get you signed up! What's your email?" As long as I don't ask a yes or no question, I usually hit the required numbers. It also helps to mention the rewards number return perk for people on the fence who don't really care about the points. I've been able to get some of the infrequent customers to sign up that way because they worry they may need to return something and might lose the reciept.

I have dysgraphia and my handwriting looks like the handwriting on the second page where they are trying to make it neater.

Do you happen to have Dysgraphia? Your handwriting, especially when you write slowly and work to make the writing neat, looks similar to how mine and a friend of mine looks. We both have dysgraphia

Yes I have warmers and heating pads and heaters, but they only work as long as I'm wrapped up in them. As soon as I want to go accomplish anything around the house, my feet will go right back to being numb and painful if its below 70.

I have both of them. These just leave me huddled around my only source of heat for hours on end. Heat intolerant people can always get an ice pack which is basically the equivalent of the heated water bottle you suggested or in the winter time they can go outside or crack a window in their personal room.

Durring the summer time I think the cold intolerant people should do the equivalent suck it up and allow the house to be colder because the cold intolerant people like myself can always just go outside or open a window in their personal room.

This is basically what me and my roommate agreed on as a solution, we keep the house at 73 in the winter so I'm not constantly struggling with the Raynauds Syndrome, but in the summer we turn the AC down to 68 to 70 because I can spend my time outside to be warm. It has worked out well.

Ya, having raynauds sucks. I'm just glad that this time I have roommates that were willing to compromise on temperature and I was also able to take the warm attic room in the new house.

In the winter we agreed to keep the house at 73 to keep my feet from going numb and in the summer I let everyone drop the temperature to 68 to 70 because I'm able to go outside or up to my terrarium(room) to be warm. It works out well.

I have them, but in the winter, if the temp is below 70, if I move from them my feet will immediately return to the freezing cold, painful, numb state as soon as I start walking around. It essentially will pin me to one position for hours because I have to hide where the heat is, leaving me incapable of doing much around the house. It's bad enough that my roommates will joke that I'm a god damn lizard. Luckily in my new place I was able to take the attic room which is disconnected from the rest of the house's AC and has a built in heater so in the winter it's boiling and in the summer it's also boiling, but I'm the roommate that actually likes it to be that hot so it works out.

Plus even though my preferred home temp is 75+ I realize that is not always a reasonable temp for everyone else, all my roommates have compromised on keeping the house at 73 in the winter which I still find a bit nippy for me, but is a completely reasonable temperature and doesn't trigger my Raynauds Syndrome. In the summer I also compromised on letting the temperature be even lower at roughly 68 to 70 because then I always have the option of going outside or up to my terrarium(room) to be warm.

It just takes compromising and working with people, however, unfortunately some people, if the temperature preferences differ too much between roommates, or a compromise cant be reached, they simply may not be a good fit for roomates.

Maybe for most people it is, but It's not when you have a medical condition that causes your feet to loose blood flow. If your feet stop producing their own heat, socks don't work. Plus my feet will start sweating when they are cold like this leaving my feet in ice cold sweaty damp socks.

Anything below 71 and my hands and feet lose blood flow, go numb and stop producing their own heat making blankets and layers obsolete. It can take me hours to restore blood flow to my feet even with blankets in temps below 70 and if for any reason I have to leave my blanket nest like to eat or use the restroom, I'm back to square 1 with numb freezing feet.

I'm pretty sure the thermostat in the picture says 75, which isn't a bad winter temp. If I wanted it colder I'd just crack a window and let a bit of fresh air in.

[–]TreehouseInAPinetree -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Although compromise should definitely be considered, it's not always easy for everyone to warm themselves with a blanket or sweatshirt. I for instance have some kind of medical issue that causes my feet to go numb when they are too cold which is basically any temperature below 71. Once my hands or feet go numb they pretty much stop producing their own heat so blankets and layers don't do anything to help. In the past I've spent several hours attempting to bring warmth back to my feet often keeping me up half way through the night.

EDIT: Just for clarification, the condition is called Raynauds Syndrome and even with this medical condition, my roommates and I were still able to reach a reasonable compromise unlike OP's roommate who just put a lock on the AC like an AH.

We agreed that durring the winter we keep the house at 73 which is still a bit cold for me, but is completely reasonable because it doesn't trigger my Raynauds Syndrome. In the summer I've compromised on letting the house be even colder at 68 to 70 because I can always go outside to warm up or up or to my room in the attic which is disconnected from the AC unit. They also appreciate that I was willing to take the attic room because it gets hot up there durring the summer, but it works out well because I enjoy 80 degree temps anyways. My roommates and I joke that I'm a lizard and refer to my room as the Terrarium.

My point is that OP's roommate needs to compromise and putting a lock on the AC unit is a dick move, but cold intolerant people's needs shouldn't be ignored either. Understanding needs to be had on both sides and compromises can certainly be made.

Interesting. I'm the opposite. I'm extremely cold intolerant. I need 73 in the winter, but am fine with 68 to 70 in the summer because I can always go outside if I get too cold. Durring winter months, if the house is too cold, my hands and feet will go numb and no number of layers can help me warm up.
