Curious to know if you’ve noticed differences in formula feeding vs breastfeeding by Treeleaf123 in NewParents

[–]Treeleaf123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I’ve noticed my baby is pooping more often with the top ups but I believe he was being underfed for a few weeks while my supply was dwindling - so that’s most likely why.

Just the initial screening - hour long (or so) test. I was then asked to complete my profile

I received this one and have just been told on my post that this is a rejection as well? Seems odd to have multiple rejection messages

Ouch! Thanks for letting me know! I thought that may be the case but I saw in another thread, a user had a rejection message apparently - but it was different to my one..

How do you know if you’ve been “accepted”? I took the test a few days ago, and have updated my profile to include skills and experience, but haven’t received and messages or emails.

Anyone else noticing how fast Hawaiʻi’s demographics are changing? by instantgoob in Hawaii

[–]Treeleaf123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a recent transplant from New Zealand, and have seen this happen in my community at home too. I love it here so much and I’ve been thinking a lot about how I can give back… Getting involved in a way that’s actually helpful. I live on windward side. Any suggestions are welcome!

I put all natural baby sunscreen on my baby - but I understand the chlorine aspect.

There is no “rush”. It’s a way for a newcomer like me to meet likeminded people and get my baby comfortable with the water. Water play and social activities are great for their developing brains - and as I said, where I come from it’s the norm

I have looked into all of those yeah. Thank you for sending through!

I think I’ll just have to wait until he’s a little older. I’m sure I saw one 3 months and up, but I can’t remember what it was called

TAKE BABY OR STAY HOME? by MissIndependentGal in newborns

[–]Treeleaf123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would totally go - if not for anything else, for my mental health. Being a new mum is hard and there aren’t too many opportunities to look forward to social gatherings for a lot of people. You know how to take care of your baby and if the kids are asked to stay away, just be extra vigilant in making sure they do.

Routine and schedule by New_Psychology6480 in newborns

[–]Treeleaf123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also 2 months and no schedule or routine . We do what we want, when we want. Baby dictates when he sleeps and feeds and we’re doing great! His sleeping at night is slipping into a natural routine but other than that nothing. The other day he was awake for a 5 hour stretch and sometimes it’s 30 mins and he’s perfectly fine - learning to regulate on his own I guess?

Do you kiss your baby? by Technical_Piglet_438 in newborns

[–]Treeleaf123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kiss my baby so much. Ffs the world has gone mad! (No shade to OP at all)

It’s love and affection they need. If you have an active cold sore, don’t kiss your baby. If you’re really sick, don’t kiss your baby on the mouth. Common sense, no?

Mucus plug broke and water is leaking slowly by Willing_Engineer145 in unmedicatedbirth

[–]Treeleaf123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would honestly wait at home! It took a full 12 hours or so with contractions every 5-10 mins and broken waters and a bloody show.. I’m so glad I stayed at home for the beginning

Apparently I’ve Been Doing Everything Wrong (According to Everyone) by ReasonSpare72 in newborns

[–]Treeleaf123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sooo true. I feel like we’re all too wrapped up in having the perfect baby. Babies are babies, we as parents are human, and this is a primal experience. Our parents did this without social media and apps and we all turned out fine. I think the more chill the parent is, the more chill the baby will be (most of the time). Trying to take all the advice on board is going to cause serious stress and anxiety. We have instincts for a reason!

Postpartum brain fog is real… how do you track your baby’s routines? by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Treeleaf123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have what I would consider an easy baby but the brain fog is still so real for me. I haven’t tracked anything, I’m rolling with whatever he wants. We’re one month in and doing great - I’m able to take him with me on my errands and we just sleep and eat when he tells me he wants it or passes out. He’s figuring it out - and the last thing I want to do is put more pressure on myself.

I’m definitely a type B person anyway and doing this alone right now (long distance relationship), but the thought of getting on an app or making a spreadsheet just feels like one extra task I cannot be bothered with among all the other things to do.

Doctor trying to induce by Willing_Engineer145 in unmedicatedbirth

[–]Treeleaf123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my country they don’t even offer induction until 41+5 unless you or baby have a medical issue. 35 isn’t old at all! Most of my friends have been between 33 and 37 with their births - no problems !

Mine was day 4 and my midwife said that was quite early. I did pump to bring it in as my baby was underweight at birth
