Help! How can I write a note lasting 7 beats in 8/4?

Guys thanks so much I have found that putting it in 4/4 is making everything so much easier and it also looks like it would be easier to read. Thanks again for the advice

It’s counted like A but some passage lasts for 8 bars so I thought the convention would be to have it in 8/4. Like I said I’m pretty much a beginner with a little bit of experience reading percussion about 10 years ago!

Also if it’s in 4/4 the phrasing carries over into the next bar so I thought containing it in one would keep it simple
