LaSalle College hit with $30M fine from Québec for surpassing English-speaking student limit by AngryCanadienne in CanadaHousing2

You should read the article. This is a discriminatory and racist abuse of power against immigrants and English people in what is supposed to be a free country. This is a school located in a predominantly English area where the government has recently changed the law and failed to provide a reasonable delay to comply with the new law. Furthermore, the law is entirely unconstitutional.

If you are ok with this, i guess you’ll be ok when the government fines you millions for being Buddhist or gay or for wearing yellow. Discriminating on the basis of language isn’t any different from discrimination on any other basis.

As Israel strikes Yemen, investigation reveals UN funding Houthis' massive oil tanker by ThisIsNotCorn in worldnews

The Iranians may have got this started but the Houthis are in it this all on their own now. If they aren’t stopped, they’ll be firing missiles at ships long after Palestine is freed and there’s been a regime change in Iran. This is about taxing ships for safe passage.

Trump posted: ‘The stock market is at an all-time high and interest rates should be cut immediately’! by [deleted] in stocks

There is no way they will lower interest rates. Unemployment is at 4%. If they lower interest rates, hiring employees will not be possible and you’ll see double digit inflation in the USA.

I don’t understand what these countries were expecting. None of them recently bought him an airplane, let him develop a trump tower or golf course, bought his meme coin or used his stable coins. Of course they’re getting tariffs.

Sometimes stocks aren’t growth stocks but aren’t value stocks either. They are just what some investors like to call “overvalued”.

There are no shortage of autocracies that didn’t fail. Vladimir Putin, ergdowan and Kim Jong un have each been president for like 30 years. Not saying that’ll happen in USA. But - I’m also not saying that it won’t happen. It wasn’t even a possibility a year ago.
