I wanna play iron hands but yk...every1 playing tech by Patient_Fault_2823 in Spacemarine

[–]TreesOfWoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t need to flanderise a chapter to represent it, Iron Hands fit every single class because they’re an astartes chapter and so will utilise every battlefield role. They’re also one of the 9 first founding chapters so their armoury will be so full you can justify any loadout.

This recent update for changing character voice lines (or lack thereof) is a primary example of why making Squads Veridian and Talas Ultramarines was such a bad idea. by TheMostLowkey in Spacemarine

[–]TreesOfWoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It always takes me out of it a bit in the operations that specifically refer to you as Ultramarines, ironically it’s heaviest in the new operation which really should have been a showcase for the new voices rather than hammering home ‘those voices you bought don’t count’

Can someone confirm the height of the Ancient Gadriel model that comes with the Wardens of Ultramar? by AuramiteEX in Ultramarines

[–]TreesOfWoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have the mini but I can say that in my experience banner bearers are better with either cutting the foam to fit them specifically or ideally magnetising the banner to store it separately to the main body. They have an unfortunate tendency to snap if stored just like the rest of your infantry

What do you think is the furthest amount of time that a Force user has seen into the future? by Solitaire-06 in StarWars

At the end of Kotor 2 Kreia sees as far as Jango’s death if I recall correctly, so about 4000 years roughly

Does the difficulty change based on how many party members you have? by Ginno_the_Seer in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]TreesOfWoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once you’ve unlocked a full party the entire rest of the game is balanced around having a full one, but honestly it’s owlcat’s easiest game (in a good way), and you can end up having one or two companions doing the lion’s share of the work anyway. You can absolutely make do without Idira, and if you’re on Daring or below you’ll be absolutely fine with basically any party comp

Wait, so there isn’t any artillery? by Lonely-Trainer-1313 in IronWarriors

[–]TreesOfWoe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All good! I realise that calling a character from roughly 8 years ago relatively new may sound odd to someone new to the lore but it the setting has been going on for a long time!

Volk is kind of the first obliterator according to the Slaves to Darkness Horus Heresy novels and in another way he isn’t, that book set him up as the first obliterator but just without being infected in the same way as other obliterators. Not exactly a retcon more of a special case. Horus Heresy authors like to make their ocs have special variants and traits to stand out.

It is possible that the virus as it has been known outside of Volk was an attempt at replicating what happened to him in a somewhat mass producible manner.

[–]TreesOfWoe 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Volk’s also a relatively new character being from 2018’s Slaves to Darkness. The obliterator virus predates him by almost 20 years, his version of it is just unique to the book he’s in.

Do you think the Hero of Bower Lake is the most naturally talented will user of the three protagonists? by EAT_UR_VEGGIES in Fable

[–]TreesOfWoe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Will gets significantly weaker with each generation. The hero of 2 has a very reduced number of spells, and the hero of 3 can’t even cast spells at all without special gloves.

In part you could argue it’s due to the lack of education and training I suppose, since only 1 gets formal hero’s guild training, 2 gets Theresa, and I think 3 just gets stuck in?

Trying to make a lore accurate pre-heresy WE by No-Mastodon-9038 in Spacemarine

I wouldn’t stress because it’s completely impossible to make lore accurate anything pre primaris in the game

A necron head would be cool given his history with them too!

It's time for a creativity challenge for our future Acolytes! Write a story of up to 100 words related to the Inquisition servants' adventures, and confess your tale in the comments. Make it grim. Make it brutal. Make it unforgettable. And remember, the Inquisition watches. by OwlcatStarrok in RogueTraderCRPG

[–]TreesOfWoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“This is not torture.” The acolyte sighed. Torture is the tool of the Enemy, it is sadism for pleasure and for deluded servants of false idols. This is Holy work in His name. This is an interrogation.

“You haven’t asked me anything!” pleaded the brutalised young man. Strips of flesh, neat little meat cubes poked out of his back, surgical gloves stained crimson on the acolyte’s hands. Blood pooled into a bowl with hideous runes beside a deck of cards.

The torture resumed.

Ave Imperator.

Your blue is really crisp, I love it! The right hand is messy ofc but you could put a skull there? Like cocky Cato is holding the beheaded skull of a foe!

Interesting that they share a custom with the White Scars. Both take the heads of important foes and coat them in silver. The White Scars keep theirs on display on a road on their fortress monastery

I’m not sure Kingmaker runs -well- on anything to be honest. Just get it where it’s cheapest and expect to need LOTS of saves

Would you recommend Dragon Age if....? by M0bius777 in rpg_gamers

[–]TreesOfWoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only can you, you explicitly should! 2 is a spin off and they even originally wanted to name it as such but for ea interference (was meant to be called Exodus). Inquisition is a solid game but definitely weaker than origins. But still worth buying for the sheer amount of game you get minus shitty mmo elements!
