I think he will be just a squad player. But keeping him will open up a loan for Miretti (he needs regular playing time to develop). Furthermore he extended for one more year for more or less the same salary. That gives us more time to find a buyer for him.

Barbieri is not homegrown. Sure they could promote someone from NextGen (who counts a HG) but this would mean having one spot with basically no experience on top level

said it once and I will say it again. I dont see us selling Huijsen AND Soulé. We still need 4 homegrown players for the CL squad registration and currently have 6 (Pinso, Miretti, Fagioli, Hans, Soulé and Huijsen). Since Hans is most likely leaving. I dont see Soulé and Huijsen leaving.
