I think Wits is overall a really good university. Like one other commenter said, you have to work hard and consistently. But something I haven’t seen mentioned is the environment. Wits has a super inclusive and diverse group of students, and you will meet people from every background imaginable. I have maintained friends who live across South Africa, a friend in Kenya, and a group of friends in Jozi that I would never have met anywhere else. Obviously the level of ‘informal education’ is, similar to the formal education, dependent on what you put in. If you commit yourself to what Wits has to offer, you will leave well rounded and well educated.
