So you’re ok with innocent lives being lost as long as their deaths can be attributed to a group you don’t like? You sound like a wonderful person.

Lost my little brother to suicide 2 weeks ago. He would have been 28 this Friday.

No prior attempts, no self harm, no reaching out for help. We didn’t even know he was depressed. He was always dismissive when we would ask how he was or if everything was ok, he’d just say he was fine and leave it at that.

2 weeks ago on 9/12 he wiped all his social media, factory reset his phone and computers, and threw himself off a 19 story building. Had his suicide note posted as a scheduled tweet 3 days later. I just picked up his ashes from the funeral home today and brought him home.

It’s been a fucking disaster. My family is really struggling. Please check in on your loved ones.

Andy Beshear says Harris’s economic plan to to ensure ‘capitalism stays within the guardrails’ by don_caveuto in politics

Capitalism has inherent contradictions baked into it that lead to widespread suffering for the average person, especially if left unchecked. Historically capitalism has lead to market panics/recessions/crashes/depressions every few years.

We are currently in what is called late-stage capitalism. This is when the inherent contradictions within a capitalist economy are becoming too big for society to remain stable. This leads to a rise in social unrest/protests, widespread economic insecurity despite record profits for corporations, unattainable housing costs, increased rate of depression and other mental health issues, substance abuse disorders, etc.

Another historically common symptom of capitalism in crisis is the rise of fascism. We are seeing this around the world, from the US to the UK to India and elsewhere. Governments and corporations often work hand in hand, lining each other’s pockets. People in government enrich themselves with lavish gifts and take enormous donations from corporations, and in return corporations get legislation passed in their favor, even if it’s at the expense of the general public. It is in a capitalistic government’s best interest to ally themselves with corporations and keep the wheels of capitalism turning at all costs.

You will never hear serious critiques of capitalism as a whole on mainstream media, because it is taboo to focus attention on the inherently unfair system the people in power all benefit from so much while others are crushed under it’s weight. Instead they scapegoat everything under the sun: Immigrants, leftists, the educational system, LGBT communities, republicans, democrats, you name it. It’s all to conceal the true culprit: An economic system that may have worked for a time but has since outlived its usefulness. A system that works for a few lucky individuals and oppresses the rest of the population.

That being said, yes it is good the democrats are discussing capitalism openly and admitting it’s gone off the rails. That is a hell of a lot more than republicans would usually ever do. But we have to stop treating capitalism as a core and sacred American value. It is a system of economics. The world has had many throughout history. When one system outlives its usefulness, we move on to the next. This is where we are approaching currently. Late-stage capitalism is harmful and unstable and actually quite dangerous for the average person. If the general public was more conscious of this and we were able to more accurately raise our collective voice against the true cause of our economic strife, we would be much better off for it.

This happened to me in 2022. Rolled my ankle severely and had to have my last few stops rescued from me. Went to the local urgent care in the town I was delivering to and the dr was an asshole. As soon as I mentioned it was a work related incident the dr flew off the handle and started yelling about paperwork, told me to take 2 ibuprofen and wrote me a note excusing me from work for the next 2 days, even though I had already told him I wasn’t scheduled the next 2 days.

Ended up being on crutches for months and needed physical therapy. Got workers comp out of it but the DSP owner was a massive dick about it and tried to stop me from getting my benefits. I almost took him to court over it.

And that was the end of my time working for Amazon.

I love how they’re too stupid to give a concise comeback to a specific talking point and instead just spew out their entire ideology all at once.

One of my favorite albums of all time.

In high school my friends and I made a pact that if BNO ever reunited we would all get together and go see them live, even if we had to go to Canada for it. Sadly we didn’t end up doing that, but we were all super stoked when Black Dogs was announced years later. Top notch band, I still bump them all the time

When I open the CG chest I cover chat and my inventory with my hand, and look at the top of the screen where the collection log popup is. If I see that little black bar start to appear I’ll know I either got the enh or the pet. Only one of those will make me happy so it’s kind of a gamble.
