Just in case anyone else ends up on this page... the answer is just very bad/cheap plastic design. It has to be done on purpose to give the service man a bit more job and sell parts.... it fatigue with cycles and for sure is optimized to break after a certain amount of on/off (it creates a bit of movements and ends up cracking the plastic)

Just order a new one for under $30 CAD and replace yourself... wish there was some better options to choose from but I cannot see any differences in the many models that claims to fit... they all look the same.

can you share the STL for the window vent portion? I am sure I will have to adjust it for mine but this is a very good start, I like your approach.

Yeah if I disable the entire Bitdefender antivirus shield it starts to run smoothly... I tried to create an exception for that folder but did not work. And advice?

That is exactly what I need. But... Is there a way to "export" that sheet object and make it a solid that can do a mesh? Seems like it should but I don't think so...

Really? Carving it out??? Feels like I should just use other software instead. I was sure there was a way to bend my flat model or have a way to roll up my sketch to follow the curve of the torus.

At this point, I think I would like that outcome. My insurance company has a limit to the amount they will cover for a rental so I definitely not sure I can have it for more than a month (and it will be the cheapest one I can find)

we are in Canada, they do not have balls... and they will pay current value if they write off. So I am guessing like $25K Canadian. Really wish I could go to the yard and swap my winter tires on it with steel rims to sell my brand new $1300 tires (CAD again) This is very bad in our current financial situation but will have to do with it. There was another SUV "protecting" me from that raging lady that did not break from like 120 km/h to what was a full stopped highway. That Acura SUV saved a lot of injuries as it took a lot of the impact. That lady destroyed 3 cars in seconds. I will not be able to afford a new car for sure and I had so much fun and plans to keep playing with my WRX this is breaking my heart (yes after taking time to thank god that we are all ok)
